I'll be surprised if any of these arrests are of actual terrorists or related persons. They don't have the guts to go into the FATA and clean house like they would have to.
Just read Ghost Wars to get the whole story on Pakistan's complicity with Wahhabists. They play both sides of the card with arrogance. They are deathly afraid of thier own Iran style revolution.

He's doing nothing! I would guarantee he knows exactly what village Bin Laden is in. He's scared because if he killed or captured Bin Laden then he will ruffle the extremist feathers in his own country and they will kill him. Yea, what a mighty military officer, NOT!

This is more "catch and release" bullshit...
Until I see lunatic clerics hanging from lampposts -- Pakistan's efforts mean NOTHING....
Until America makes good on the threat to treat Nations that harbor, train, support or finance our enemy as our enemy.... It will continue..
It is dangerous to trust ANY Arab Muslim ---- until he has shown eager willingness to join in the killing of the lunatics...
Neither Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan or Pakistan has cleared that hurdle yet.....
The "Free Iraqis" and "Free Afghans" have come much closer to that level of "proof"...

"After a blitz of detentions of suspected militants and Islamists, Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf called for a holy war against preachers of hate and announced steps to curb militant Islamic schools and groups."
A Holy War against Holy War.

Easy for you to spew your drivel from behind the safety of your keyboard. Musharraf faces the threat of death on a daily basis. And Pakistan, while hardly the perfect ally, has provided us the biggest Al Qaeda captures in the war on terror.
But I imagine you already know this, since many of us have said it 4,285 times or more on this forum, not to mention all the press reports.

If you want to buy the dog and pony show you feel free but I know for a fact he's not doing everything he can. He can fool some of the people some of the time but he can't full all of the people all of the time. If you want to worship the great accomplishments of Musharraf in the war against terror then feel free but once again his accomplishments fall well short of what is needed. The best gift he could give us is Bin Laden's head on dry ice and to take control of the extremist in his country both which he has failed to do so far! As I recall it was Musharraf's troops that duck tailed and ran from the villagers in the mountains then accepted their word that they would turn over the terrorist if they were left alone. Where are these terrorist from the mountains?

You're absolutely right. Musharraf is playing both sides. When the pressure gets too heavy he pulls a AlQ #3 out of his hat, even as the next #3 warms up and walks to the on deck circle in a jihadi/ISI safehouse.
To: Coop
I've known it for a while but from your positive outlook of Musharraf I was wondering if you even knew there was a big presence of Al Qaeda in Pakistan? I'm not going to get in a pissing contest with you and besides if you don't care for my protected "drivel" then ignore me and then that would be best for both of us.

How about a compromise? You quit posting drivel, and then I'll ignore it.

I don't compromise with anyone that inserted themselves in something that wasn't addressed to them. If you want to disagree fine but if you don't have any substance to your disagreement then don't bother with me. To give you a last bit of my drivel, before hopefully you ignore me, there is no "moderate" Muslims including Musharraf.
