Why are you angry?
It seems that it was known and reported by the media that the armed police had orders or permission to kill certain guys, that this was one that they were following (I doubt that they just bumped into him) and that they weren't taking chances with remote triggers on known suspects in the tube.
At first I was puzzled as to killing him when they might have gotten some info from him, but upon reflection, the bomb trigger thing made sense.
For a counterpoint to the SF media, Dr. Micheal Savage said this on his show:
