This whole thing kinda reminds me of West Nile Virus, and Mad Cow Disease. Yes, if there is a virus killing animals it does have the potential to kill people but only 50 people have died in the last year (if i read that correctly). On the other side of the coin perhaps the animal kingdom is just on the verge of an aids outbreak within the various species due to the massive human population that is infected with aids in africa.

Both west nile, and mad cow can be effectively controlled. In the case of west nile, it could be virtually eradicated if it weren't for enviro-wienies and other lunatics who would rather see people die than have any skeeter killer sprayed about.

Mad cow is controlled by not feeding ruminants to ruminants, and by testing. Until BSE came about, (it's not a virus) the cross species barrier has never been much of an issue. Even with this bird flu, it's not quite the same virus, it rapidly mutates into a form which can then effect humans.

Only 50 or so people have died from this cross species (they think) flu virus. That's far from a pandemic. Thousands die every year from 'regular' flu's. Who knows, this specific flu virus may mutate into something harmless for all we know. If the original virus is eradicated, we may never see
anymore deadly mutations again.

The science isn't exact. the WHO is doing a bit of fear mongering in order to raise it's importance (and money) Let's not forget from where the WHO is from, the world control wannabe organization which thinks it should dictate to all other countries health departments and their biological science professionals, and understate/undermine their capabilities.
