WASHINGTON (AP) - Americans are far more likely than the Japanese to expect another world war in their lifetime, according to AP-Kyodo polling 60 years after World War II ended. Most people in both countries believe the first use of a nuclear weapon is never justified.

>If it was the end, and we were facing defeat [say 10,000 Russian tanks through the Fulda Gap]. Hell yes I'd use nuclear weapons first. There's nothing noble nor sane in dying with weapons in the hollsters.<

Now you know how the terrorists feel and why they won't hesitate to use a nuke if they can get their hands on one or two or three.

They cannot win a conventional battle.

And it's interesting that it was George Washington's shot at a Frenchman on the frontier in Indian territory (1755 or so) that started the Seven Years War.

An Indian, and Arab, and a Cowboy are sitting at a bar, hunched over their drinks. The Indian looks up from his whiskey and says sadly, "We are a proud people. Once we were many, but now we are few."

The Arab then puts down the mint tea he was sipping and says in a loud, challenging manner, "We are also a proud people. Once we were few, but now we are many."

The Cowboy puts down his beer, smiles, looks at the Arab and says, "Well Mahmoud, that's because we haven't played Cowboys and Arabs yet."

Reminds me of the line from "Die Hard" where John McClane tells Hans Gruber "yippee-ki-ay mother******"

"I believe the confusion stems from the Cold War (WWIII) being limited to local proxies such as Korea, Viet Nam, Afghanistan, etc.

People around the world know in their guts that this time around will be similar to WWII: global in scale, destructive in nature and fought with unconditional surrender as the goal.

The current warm-up act in Iraq is just a prelude to filter out and help ID our internal/external enemies."

I believe you have hit the nail on the head sir. Once this elevates into a global situation it will get very nasty very quickly.

I for one am tired of the terrorist attacks on innocent people and the BS of this is about religion for the Muslims or about oil for the US.

There will be a time soon when decisions will have to be made about where a man stands and who he will support. Its time to choose sides, good or evil. The PC bunch will $hit their britches when hell breaks loose 'cause they will be the first to be devoured when the beast is turned loose.
