Once Mecca is gone, Muhammad is exposed as a false prophet.
If St. Peters was attacked by terrorists, would Roman Catholicism go away? Or would its adherents perhaps become more devout?

There's no equivalence, as according to Islam, Mecca and its "holy" places are not supposed to be harmed.

There's nothing in the New Testament about St. Peter's.

Comparting St. Peters or the Vatican to Mecca exposes your total ignorance of Islam. Catholics do not base their entire faith upon praying to a magical black stone in the center of St. Peters. 2 of the 5 pillars of Islam demand prayer directly to that black stone. If that black stone is gone, the religion is gone.
