"September 8, 2004 - Within 18 minutes of the end of the TANG report, posts from "Buckhead" appear on FreeRepublic.com, saying he thinks something is phony. Within a few hours, Buckhead is putting forth forensic analyses of fonts and proportional spacing, claiming the memos are forged and actually word-processed. Buckhead soon identified as Harry MacDougald, who worked under Roger Stone in the 2000 Miami riot. MacDougald is a lawyer who has worked for the Southeastern Legal Foundation and also got clinton disbarred in Arkansas.

September 9, 2004 - Winger Bloggers, including MacDougald's own wife Liz, plus the media, develops and trumpets forgery claim, discrediting Rather and whole TANG issue. Liz MacDougald forwards "Buckhead's" posts without revealing she is his wife.

When Rove emerges unscathed the Left will have to invent a new pschological symdrome. ....not unlike the "Post-Election-Selection Trauma" many suffered from after Kerry lost.

I don't even bother reading Kos. It's depressing to see what dementia praecox does to a person's brain.

so stupid it is funny.
________________________________________________

The very idea of trying to get the polical guru of someone WHO WILL NEVER RUN FOR OFFICE AGAIN is so stupid it is funny. Had they gotten Rove before the reelection it might have mattered. But after the election is meaningless. Rove is one of a bunch of advisors to the president now. Rove's particular expertise is politics and elections which are less of a concern for the president now.

Only a Republican campaign would have made bad forgeries of a document they already had. A Democratic campaign would have just turned over the actual Killian memos, typed by Knox.

Like they did with the Downing Street memo? No wait, didn't they retype it on a manual typewritter and then destroy the original?

Karl Rove is the love child of Elvis and Jacqueline Kennedy.

I made a sarcastic comment mocking DUmmies about how do we know Karl Rove is not Buckhead, and that comment made it in the LA Times, but of course the LA Times took it as a serious comment. The left is desparate.

I just knew that "Buckhead" was part of a greater "Rovian Conspiracy".

Karl Rove is everywhere and sees everything. Donchaknow?

Old news to me. Since Memogate, I've been telling all my lib friends and relatives that Rove was behind it. Who cares if it's true or not? The main thing is, it gets them spittin' mad!

I heartily agree and second that motion!

Maybe their spin writers are channelling Ed Wood.

That would make a great title for a "Daily Thread."

And just to extend well-earned honors, Bill Moyers should be the official Beadle, Court Jester, and online Icon Poster Boy for the theme:

Only a Republican campaign would have made bad forgeries of a document they already had. A Democratic campaign would have just turned over the actual Killian memos, typed by Knox. Only the Republicans could benefit from a forgery with mistakes inserted. That alone puts the spoltlight on Rove and Bartlett.

So, Rove created this pathetically obvious forgery expecting CBS to fall for it.

Yeah. Sure. Whatever.
