The movie does not denigrate purple heart "winners." (I have two, and did not "win" either.) The movie denegrates people who falsely claim to have earned a Purple Heart. There is a huge difference.

No doubt there is.
So, I guess you can't understand why some of the military are protesting this movie. Right?

I do understand, because they are not getting the whole picture.

Any thinking vet that actually sees the movie will be happy, just as they are happy when John Kerry was exposed as a fraud and a liar.

There's nothing to protest. They don't even show them using the Purple Hearts. The entire scene is when they're working their schedule for which weddings to crash when Owne Wilson's character points out that some of them have cash bars Vince Vaughn's character whips out his jewlery box with two Purple Hearts saying "I've got that covered". That's all there is, they're presented as these sleezy guys plan to not have to pay for drinks, nothing else. They don't even say what the medals are, they're just on screen for like 2 seconds. There's no there there.
