But what country is going to be crazy enough to accept a half million deported British university professors?
I knew of the base and extravagant designs which our people harboured, designs of such a nature that I think it was a divine inspiration that moved his Majesty to carry out a resolution so spirited; not that we were all guilty, for some there were true and steadfast Christians; but they were so few that they could make no head against those who were not; and it was not prudent to cherish a viper in the bosom by having enemies in the house. In short it was with just cause that we were visited with the penalty of banishment, a mild and lenient one in the eyes of some, but to us the most terrible that could be inflicted upon us.
True then, true now.
There would also have went Ronald Reagan, according to your thinking, for using the term "Evil Empire" and announcing:
"My fellow Americans, I'm pleased to tell you today that I've signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes."...
The statement above did not bring down on America the full might and fury of the Soviet Union, but gave them pause to contemplate that there was nothing to contemplate. Only persons who feared the calling of a spade a spade had their panties in a wad.
I presume you would enjoy having lunch with Dan Rather. c,nes pas?
Re: Your post #22, very well played. Salient points that escape the pacifists in our midst.
Ronald Reagan never tried to score cheap political points with racists and ignoramuses, nor did he hand over to terrorists any propaganda gifts.
Actually Reagan did score points with conservatives (are all conservatives racist to you, they seem to be) and his enemies did use his radio announcement for propaganda. So what's your "intellectual angst" and dismay with Tancredo? You tend to arrive at your preconceived notions about everybody else with some heavy baggage of preconceived, personal, notions of your own.
Truer words have seldom been uttered on these threads. You should not expect much from this particular individual who is, after all, a proud member of FR's resident quisling contingent. Mere mention of the words "Tancredo" or "amnesty" causes them to race for the immigration threads. Pro-illegal alien enthusiasts, they never miss an opportunity to shamelessly flack for the cause. Most of this small gaggle of suspicious geese claim to be Republicans -- with their soft-on-illegals views, we know what they are not -- loyal American conservatives.
Of course, there was no atheistic Osama bin Ladensko committing mass murder against Americans while trying to claim that the West is out to destroy Orthodox Christianity, nor were there any Congressmen calling for the annihilation of Orthodox holy sites, nor any keyboard commando yahoos saying that all Orthodox are evil and how they all need to be killed.
Big p*ssy.
I'd say "traitors," but why split hairs ;-)
And it isn't with loyal American conservatives.
Here is their meeting place:
Doesn't a British Prime Minister have any similar executive powers to an American President, including the ability to deport people on a national security or military basis?
It isn't I who boasts to be "FedUpToTheTeeth" at America's leadership in a time of war.
However, I find it 100% justified to kill such people as an act of self defense in their delcared war on human civilization.
You can't pervert the law that way. They declare war they get war, not "legal proceedings." It fails to provide the dignity they deserve.
Burial in pig fat accomplishes that.
How are they planning to deport those at the BBC... ;p
This man knew a SHUNK when he ran into it...and LABLED IT for what it was.
Sir Winston Churchill on the hideous practices of Muslims:
How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries!
Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy.
The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live.
A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity.
[ This next sentence really nails it down! ]
The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Just WOW!
Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities - but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world.
Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith.
It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome.
