Keep in mind that your accusations have nothing to do with Hinduism as a religion and philosophy, and much to do with the fact that India was invaded and controlled by Muslims for hundreds of years, and then the British.

Just because many Christians eschew the rules in the Bible and have abortions, practice illicit sex, and there are churches calling themselves "Christian" that celebrate homosexual unions doesn't mean Christianity is wrong. It means some people don't understand or practice the religion they supposedly profess.

Your accusations are blanket statements and cannot be proven. To say the Hindus practice racism is more than silly. The very essence of Hinduism is that each individual is an eternal soul, and the temporary body is like a vehicle, so in that sense no matter what race someone is, inside everyone is completely equal; everyone is spiritually equal, the bodily differences are temporary and superficial.

Naturally all Hindus are not educated in the deeper meaning of their own religion, but many are. Just like all Christians don't necessarily practice or understand their own religion.

If this is the essence of Hinduism, then how do you explain the position of the many Daleets, or untouchables, in India, who are basically held in slavery ?

They are held there legally, the laws justfied by Hinduism. It is illegal for them to hold many jobs, or do many things at the same time or places as higher castes, and to try to convert them to Christianity, where at least they have a chance. It sounds an awlful lot like slavery to me, the nice-sounding principles of soul-equality notwithstanding. Too bad that soul-equality doesn't make it to the here and now.

Oh c'mon now. Every Indian (and they're all Brahmins) in the US never like to face up to the caste system. The caste system is there since the beginning of Indu-valley civilization. In the past, it used to be that if you're a Dalit, you're basically a SLAVE. And if you're born into Dalit parents, you can't ever get out of it.

The only job a Dalit can get in India in the public sector is SEWAGE or GARBAGE collector. And that's today.

Maybe the cities in India are more progressive, but there have been many reports of violent beatings and killings whenever someone marries outside of his/her caste in the rural areas.

It's a system designed to keep population control in place, by placing the Brahmins up on top, followed by the royal family, followed by the merchants, then the Dalits. Heck, that's why Heinrich Himmler looked at the religion as a way to control the world population after Germany won WWII (naturally, Germans would be the Brahmins)
