Just trying to counter the verbal wackos out there. It's truly a nest of vipers, isn't it?!

My mother, a Kennedy style Democrat, took my niece, visting from CA, to a summer camp in Ithaca this week that did skits. These are 11 year old kids.

One of the skits was "tell us what you'd say to George Bush about the way he hurts people in wars and lies to people."

I am not making that up.

City of Evil.

The EIB comes to the CoE...shall we send some CoE merchandise to Rush?

Yeah, even my mother thought so. Her question to me was "how do YOU stand five minutes in THAT place?"

I'm glad I only had to work in Ithaca for about a month....on occasion, I do go to The Commons (there's a pizza place there that I enjoy)....but, walking in the midst of so many wackos....well, it's quite entertaining (only because I don't have to live there...otherwise, it would be infuriating).

Having been raised in the Northeast, I am still amazed at the virulent Leftism that passes there as business-as-usual. Visiting my elderly mother in Taxachewzits recently, I was deeply concerned over the fact that, when punching the SEEK button on the car radio and surfing around the AM dial, I got no less than 12 different stations broadcasting AIR AMERICA simultaneously. It was almost as if Conservative Talk Radio didn't exist.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised about Ithaca though, as I had some old High School friends of the prototypical northeast-Communist-Jewish-Left specifically move there to escape "conservative" Kennedyland.

Hope they keep him on for a long time. It can't hurt. And I can't wait to hear a few calls from there. LOL!

Ithaca by a significant majority wanted Kuchinich for Pres. in 2004 because Kerry was way too conservative for this Uber liberal populace. That is why having Rush on the air with the signal actually being beamed from Tompkins Co. is a minor miracle. I should start a rumor that it will make locals go deaf or something to that effect to have his voice coming out of our to radio tower. People around here would actually believe it--they are that out there.

Amazing that WHCU picked up Rush. I guess they are tired of the Horseheads, Rochester and Syracuse stations eating them alive in the daytime ratings. After all--Kevin English can only play music 18 hr. instead of 24 hr. a day --local Ithaca joke.

The point is moot. Ithacans have been able to tune in Rush forever. He's just on another station now. I'm one Ithacan who's glad he's on.

Those of us here who have heard of this "City of Evil" idea laugh pretty heartily at it. All politics aside, this is one of the best places to live: it's pretty, people are nice (no honking), and we have an incredible local music scene. Anyone who has lived here knows the truth, people, and that Ithaca is a warm place.

Sorry you don't agree with the majority of us, politically. Politics isn't everything, you know.

I'm very glad Rush is on in Ithaca, finally. The static from other stations further away is no longer a part of my listening pleasure. In this city of insanity, Rush brings much needed relief.
