If Pataki is testing the waters he may find them cold.

A national loser from the "git-go". I'm sure a bunch of us rubes from fly-over-country will be inspired by a RHINO from a blue state. NOT!

Pataki has indicated an interest in testing the water for a potential 2008 presidential runWell, it's a given that anyone who has ever won an election, including selectmen and dogcatchers, has a scenario where they become President.
But Governor Pataki must be clinically insane to even think of spending a dime on such foolishness.
His RINOness is the least of his problems. There are RINOs, notably Giuliani and McCain, who are also leaders and who could, under certain circumstances, be nominated and elected.
Pataki is a boob and a loser, and the only way he could be either nominated OR elected is after an all-out nuclear exchange had reduced the voting population to Libby and the population of an insane asylum.

Pataki has as much chance in the red states as does the hildabeast.
How can this moron think he has any chance? He really isn't liked too much even in N.Y. Much less anywhere else.

Tell me if I'm wrong, if a northeastern Republican gets the nomination, Hillary's back in the White House.

...Pataki has indicated an interest in testing the water for a potential 2008 presidential run, although state and national GOP leaders give him little chance of succeeding. Ya think?
To: Liz
Two weeks ago, Pataki appeared at several events in Ohio the site of the first presidential primary caucus and did nothing to quell speculation that he is eyeing the White House.
Did I miss us changing our rules, or doesn't the writer know the difference between Ohio and Iowa? I guess it's all a blur west of the Hudson. :sheesh:

Yup, heard it in the news last night...
He knows he would lose, his polls are in the toilet.
He will not come close to the White House.

Gov. Pataki told a group of aides last night that he will not seek re-election next year and alluded to a possible run for president in 2008 ............. Genius!

Too conservative for NY, and too liberal for the rest of us, but with Hillary running for President, feels he can sell himself as the conservative candidate for President.

"Former Massachusetts Gov. William Weld, a New York native.........said earlier this year that he may enter the race if Pataki bows out, although state GOP leaders give him little chance of success."
Gee, if Weld was the GOP gubernatorial nominee, Spitzer would be the *conservative* in the race.

He's probably laying groundwork for a vice-presidential nod. If the Democrat candidate is Clinton, Pataki can try and make the case that adding him to the ticket puts New York in play.
