My Windows XP has never BSoD'd

Two thoughts:
1) Are you familiar with the expression, "Polishing a turd"?
2) As Einstein reportedly said, "Better is the enemy of 'Good Enough'."

It looks like the demented offspring of OS-X and Gnome.

Sounds like Spotlight in Mac OS 10.4 Tiger.
I see there is still a "start" button. I always thought it would be more elegant and meaningful to just show the Windows symbol on it.

No, this is just random screenshot on c-net's Vista gallery.

"The instructions on the box stated 'Windows 98 or better' - so I installed linux." You forgot to include a rimshot with that. =)

You wanna hear something really funny?
I'm listening to NASA TV and they're having some problem w/ the camera recording software and the Astronaut just mentioned he got "the blue screen of death".

Windows Longhonrn / Vista does NOT give you the dreaded "blue screen of death" with any frequency anymore.
That's because most of the fatal errors that used to trigger a BSoD now trigger a red screen of death.
I'm not kidding.

Looks like Microsoft has ummmm, appropriated OSX's Spotlight. Might be ping-worthy.
