But seriously, this man violated the trust of the man who committed suicide. He admitted he suspected the friend might commit suicide.

It's against the law to tape a conversation without the express knowledge of both parties.

Franky, I don't care what he wrote, he broke the trust and the law.

I can see how you are seeing it. I'm not sure if I see it that way at this point. But, this was a tragedy all the way around; I would certainly agree with that.

Does the law specify that consent can't be inferred or implied, that it has to asked for and given? If so, the journo is toast and deservedly so.

I think that the man knew that a crime was about to be committed and he had every right, even an obligation to record that conversation, as to the proof of what really happened. Now we know.
