This was or is the beginning of the GREat America Socialism Experiment (GREASE) where a politician can now be elected by stealing half your paycheck, giving it to someone else who now thinks they are entitled to it, and make you look like the bad guy if you say anything negative about it.

It was a strange time... elders bowing to the whims of their spoiled children.

While some choose to call these elders 'The Greatest Generation' for their sacrifice in WW2(caused by their own parents aversion to war)... their permissive parenting created a generation of adolescent adults.
