At one year the kid can eat real food. Time for solids and a sippy cup. I don't care if mom lays bare breasted on the beach and sprays milk into the air, the kid needs to learn to eat.
Unless you were recently appointed "Grand Poobah" in your state, I suggest you examine the following carefully:
It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt!
Not always.
Her allergist was pleased that my 18-month-old was still mainly nursing. Turns out that she had many undiagnosed food and other allergies. She was instinctively avoiding most foods we were offering! Her allergies were not causing other symptoms like rashes but were keeping her and us up at night.
Her solid food intake increased upon allergy treatment and upon our learning the foods she could tolerate. She began to sleep a lot more soundly. I also quit eating those foods for the duration of breast feeding.
The worst - the absolute WORST - is when the kid is large enough to dive under Mom's shirt and hunt for the spigot.
Oh, my GOD.
(I am not making that up. Fortunately, I have only seen it the once.)
