Read "Senatorial Privilege" if you haven't already. The evidence for the amount of water in her lungs comes the undertaker who took custody of her body from the sheriff. IIRC, he reported about a pint. Usually drowning victims have gallons of water in their lungs, iirc. He also took a blood sample, which was the forensic evidence for the amount of alcohol in her blood. The undertaker said he never heard of any other case where the body of a drowning victim was released to leave the state without an autopsy. And an undertaker in Barnstable county will hear of a large number of out of state drowning victims.
