...Bush has all the luck.

LOL

Economy shows some verve (largest dip in the trade deficit since 1947) - The continued economic recovery - now in its 45th month.........*** [Wouldn't have anything to do with tax breaks, would it?]

Just like LIBERALS think Clinton was unlucky to miss out on having history making 9-ll on his watch.

These people are nuts.

1-Bush proposed enormous tax cuts to shore up his conservative credentials in the 2000 primaries.

Well, the WP seems to have forgotten the 2000 stock market crash and the start of a recession under Clinton.

...after the first reckless cuts were enacted,

I prefer sensible.

along came the perfect after-the-fact justification: terrorism. Suddenly people were terrified about air traffic grinding to a standstill, consumers being too frightened to go shopping and buildings being uninsurable. The economic boost from the tax cuts seemed almost prescient.

Economic boost? I thought tax cuts were reckless.

Junior celebrated robust growth for several months before his reelection vote.

Several months. Try at least a couple of years.

...followed them up by including prescription drugs in Medicare

We haven't even starting paying for this. The largest increase in welfare since Johnson will be one hell of a chicken coming home to roost. It's estimated expense has already gone up 50%(IIRC), and it hasn't even started yet.

Clinton, who was lucky enough to get the benefit of Bush 41's economic policies, was considered the mastermind architect of the "Clinton economy".

You got to change that from "Bush 41's economic policies" to either Ronald Reagan's economic policies or too the cyclical nature of the economy, or the tech boom that had nothing to government or something else. Bush 41 had no economic poloicy other than increased taxation and regulation.

This reminds me of the times that Podunk U. defeats Notre Dame, after all the "experts" predict an old-fashioned shellacking by N.D. The post-mortem is ALWAYS about how Podunk played "above their heads", and N.D. was "looking past them".

No one considers the possibility that the "experts" are full of crap to begin with.

At least they've given up saying the economy is the "worst since Hoover" and admit it's doing well.

Now they just say Bush was "lucky."

Hmmmm...yet the media totally ignores that the dot com 'bust' (recession that President Bush inherited) started Feb/Mar 2000 ...during the last year of the Clinton/Gore administration

Clinton was elected bashing Bush the elder for the worst economy in fifty years. We now know that the economy was rebounding before Clinton was elected. He then took credit for a good economy. Then we learn the economy was tanking before Clinton left office. I don't recall this writer exposing (pun intended) RIMPOTUS for this BS.

"Bush is too stupid to be this successful."

Yet he's the mastermind of a massive conspiracy to start a war on terrorism by plotting 9/11 as a means to carry out his plan.. or steal an election... or whatever....

I just want to know, which is it? What's the excuse from the pathetic left today?
