Right, it is not a lot of money for the state.

The state would probably get 20K right back in taxes, so I doubt she wouls see more than 140k of the 250k.

As I recall, Florida has no state income tax (except on investment income beyond a certain level, I think).

No state income tax. I'm not sure if the intangibles tax would apply to it. No, she's good to go until she spends it and faces the sales tax. Only the Feds get their cut off the top.
