addendum to #2319:
remember, joran described the kalpoos as his "gambling buddies"......hangs out with them at the laundromat, I suppose!
"Amsterdam.....It's the only place on Earth that has more debauchery than Aruba."
I spent 5 days there in 1978......it was incredibly perverse and shameless back then.....I can only imagine what it has become by this time.
Thanks.
That makes so much sense.
You're scary.
Oh, don't get all upset.
I thought you were a kid and I certainly didn't mean to hurt your feelings.
I hardly ever mail a male poster,,dont want any misunderstandings.
Sorry I offended you.
I would imagine that all the players on that island are scratching each others backs.
I trust you were responding to 2319 and 21
joran/kalpoos laundering money?
As to VDS $, I have no info about where it comes from or if he is independently wealthy, etc. To get a line of credit from any casino, all you need is a good credit record of paying your bills on time. Of course, no one is going to give you an open line of credit if you're only good for $ 20,000. It isn't any different than asking a bank to give you a letter of credit to take to a realtor so the r.e. agent knows you can afford the payments on a $ 500,000 house.
I think Posner is one of the biggest in regard to online gambling. There is another who moved from Miami to the Dominican Republic and made boatloads of $ with the prescription drug websites before the US gov't came down on them hard and drove most out of business or overseas. I saw somewhere where Posner's websites are registered, and it's not the Antilles, maybe S.A., but I really don't remember.
He first bought a casino in Curacao, the old Hilton that was operating as the Grand Holiday; then he bought the HI casino on Aruba a few months later in '98. In 2001, he bought the Bricknell Beach Hotel at a bankruptcy auction.
That was gangsta rap?
For crying out loud.
"I repeatedly said 'I think'"
I say that too a lot.
It feels good to be quoted.
"He's probably laundering his only little pile of cash"
His own little pile of cash doesn't need laundering.....in fact, his own little pile of cash is probably gotten as commission for laundering dirty BIG money for some nigtime drug/whatever dealer who gets it back clean thru big WUNS at the casino.
joran and kalpoos also probably make pocket money selling small amounts of drugs to tourists for local consumption.
Canedawg, thanks for checking out my controversial post on the high high. Maybe, some thought I should have passed it under the table on the low low.
As the wiseman said, "Ain't no shame in my name."
Later on Canedawg,
NSNR
Why are you talking in gangsta rap?
"BTW, if someone lives on a vacation island, where do they go for a vacation?"
They don't have to go anywhere. They just spend their vacation in the backyard so others will know that they are home-loving, sensitive and broke.
Yes...sorry I didn't make that clear.
Laundering money is fascinating to me and seems much too easy to get away with.
Amsterdam is wonderful. If you ever go there, don't miss it.
Welcome back, Kat :)
It's possible but I see him more like a punk who could be easily bought for free drinks and a little gambling money. Before he knows it, but according to plan, he's owing favors to his buyers.
Ahem, my brother in law is Dutch, grew up in Amsterdam. I used to go there every year because my husband used to boat race in Europe and meanwhile I'd visit my sister and her husband. There are/were plenty of places in Amsterdam in the 70's and 80's that were perfectly normal....but of course at first the boat crews were all curious and went to the red light district. But we had to actively go there....it wasn't everywhere. Probably since my brother in law grew up there he was never interested in that sort of thing....preferred the university environment. He thought it was sort of funny we all found this intriguing.
