A person I work with has a girl friend in a town North of Leeds, Air line romance. The place is wall to wall rag heads and the normal people hate them. Both he and I are surprised that there haven't been some really good riots.
I was in London for the first time in 1985. We stayed in a B&B by Victoria Station. There was a mom-n-pop grocery store where we went almost every day, and one of the people who worked there looked to be Muslim, or as they say it now, Asian. The woman whom I assumed to be the owner was constantly berating her about how lazy she was, etc. We happened to talk about it with the person who ran the B&B, and he said that to Londoners, those people were "not wanted "here". Just a small snapshot, I know, but I find it interesting in light of the current times.
