It's sick and ghoulish. With the girl not even two lbs, what kind of health and developmental problems will she endure? No mother either.

This is a perversion of the natural order of things by a selfish family and their deceased daughter.

Why not pray for the child instead of whining about her birth?

Hospitals do amazing things with preemies. I bet this baby will grow up to be perfectly healthy. If I were pregnant again & fell into a coma, I'd want my hubby to do everything in his power to help give our unborn child life.

So you would prefer her dead? If so please explain the first part of your tag line – not that I understand the second.

My daughters were premies. Not as small as this girl. BUt I will tell you this this is the right thing to do for the baby. In the NICU with my girls were two girls who went home 2 days before us. They were 1lb 15 oz when born. They were in perfect health when released.

Medical technology has reached a point where even preemies this small have a decent chance at normal development. However, if the plan here had been to deliver the baby at this stage, I'd agree that it was unwise, and carried undue risk of doing more harm than good. However, the plan, which wasn't unrealistic, was that the mother could be kept going longer, so as to deliver the baby when it was the point of serious risk for long term problems -- which one might reasonably have assumed would have been the mother's wish. Apparently the mother's condition recently deteriorated, and they had to deliver the baby earlier than planned.

WOW what a warped opinion. You need prayers more than they do.

Our great grand daughter was 12 weeks early. She is doing great although it will take until she is 3 to catch up growth wise.

What would be sick and ghoulish is if the wife had been impregnated after going into a coma. This is not giving up on a life just begun and bringing joy out of sorrow.

Actually the baby will probably do very well and be healthy. Many premature babies are now born at very, very small birthweights and do just fine. I'm not sure where the 'selfishness' is that you mention, or did I read something incorrectly?

If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids
already, three who were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally retarded, and she had syphilis, would you recommend that she have an abortion?

If ya say yes we'd have never heard Beethovens music...it was his Mom...or so the story goes.....

You are have every right to express your opinion.

Thank goodness that is all it is......your opinion.

May this Father love and nourish this last gift of Love his wife gave to him.

Unselfish Love wow what a helluva great concept.

A part of her lives on in this new little girl that has come into the world. May God grant Dad's heart with growth in love everytime he looks into his daughters eyes.

Oh BTW newzjunkey don't forget to buckle up and never drive drunk because if you get in harms way the EMT and LE responding might have opinions too. Have A Good Life and Save your money for a rainy day so tax payers will not be burdened by you.

Karma Dude.

Are you being sarcastic, because if you're not I can't believe your attitude. Pray for this child and stop being so delusional.

And who appointed you the "all knowing"?????

I am the Nana of Logan, aka Texas Termite, and I will tell you that these infants have a very real chance at a good life. More important, this is a family decision. One made of LOVE, COMPASSION and trust in our God that His will be done.

Thousands of prayers helped bring our precious child to where he is today...... and thank heaven there weren't any of you that felt he shouldn't be! He and many like him are an example of prayers, miracles, modern medicine and LOVE.

Nana (and damn proud of it!!!)
