Science should be taught on what we know. Teach about the what evidence supports evolution, and teach that most scientist think evolution happened like this. And also teach that there is much we don't know and many scientist believe in intelligent design. The way evolution is taught today is to deny that there is any skepticism despite huge gaps of knowledge. So much is assumed about evolution but we teach it as fact.
The problem is when a gap is filled by "God did it" claim. Our ancestors had countless gaps filled by acts of God, gods, or demons. Science filled most of these gaps with knowledge. If the Hand of God was not ultimately needed to explain all these countless gaps in knowledge, why do we need to ask for it when we discover new gaps in knowledge?
Not many scientists at all believe in Intelligent Design. I seriously doubt you can claim one tenth of one percent of the world's credentialled biologists.
And it's not as if offers any intellectual content. You can't learn anything by studying it. "It's too complicated. I'll never understand it. Therefore it can't have evolved." That's not going to teach you much.
