The Canadian government has put nearly $9 billion into "foundations" that are beyond the reach of the auditor general. Given the corruption that exists in other government programs that ARE in sight of the auditor general we must recognize the likelihood that these funds may be subject to government misuse too. Please sign this petition urging Paul Martin to open these foundations to the auditor general...

Sorry, dude. I left in 1990 for life in these here Excited States.
When I see the tremendous decline in the country, including the latest proposals to regulate religion, the legalization of marriage to whomever (and pretty soon whatever) you want, in the ever expanding corruption and social decay, I'm convinced more and more every day that I did the right thing.
No way I'm taking my kids back to that mess.
It's too late to save Canada.
But not Alberta.
Hopefully Canada will break down and join the US - one province at a time.
Not Quebec! Why would we want the maritimes? They are basket cases.
Quebec can't join the US - they can't even read the Constitution.
Atlantic Canada is only a basket case because of the Canadian federalist society...they'd thrive in the US with all their resources and without the endless corporate welfare...they are right now pawns of the federal government in Canada.
I guess you are not familar with the oil exploration and development off the coast of Newfoundland and the natural gas deposits that are coming on line off Nova Scotia.
I guess you missed the official signing between the Provinces out east and the Feds that now allow the Provinces to have much more control and increase tax wealth over their new found oil and gas wealth .....
That's recent news - this is what it has been like for decades. The ACOA spending continues as well...
I am aware of those. That seems to be their only economic bright spot. I sure wish we could extend those trends off the coast of ME and MA. I think it would be fun to drill a well off the coast of Martha's Vinyard.
Screw Canada. Long live an independant Alberta
Quebec has never signed the Canadian Charter.
Rather than continuing to wait for Quebec to secede, why don't the rest of the provinces get together and just kick them out!
The other provinces cannot do that - only the federal government can.
No, despite the fact many concessions (such as the lack of any kind of property rights) were done with Quebec in mind...
