You're sweet but I am what I am. I ain't pretty but I understand honor, duty, and commitment.

Here's the thing, beauty fades away the other things only polish with time.

Welcome, "Just tellin' the truth Ma'am."
(Or, as said in archaic English, "God's Truth m'Lady.")

The family founders, in 18th-century Frankfurt, were supremely ugly, but several generations later, after successive marriages to supremely beautiful women, the men in the family were indistinguishable from movie stars. The Rothschild effect, as you could call it, is well established in sociology research: Men everywhere want to marry beautiful women, and women everywhere want socially dominant (i.e., intelligent) husbands.

But didn't he know that the Rothschilds all married each other? First cousins, even nieces. You would think they'd all end up with three eyes and six lips apiece.

yup. There are very few 80-year-olds who look like they did at 30. Those who try to don't have anything worth your time.
