I'm OK with that, as long
as they can only donate to Swedes,
Democrats, Socialists, Islamo-fascists
and commies.

The Unintended Consequences
of
~Queer Blood~
Snip:
In the fall of 1987, Ricky Ray, aged ten, and his two younger brothers, all hemophilic children from Arcadia, Florida, who tested positive for the AIDS antibody, tried to go to school.
Nearly half the student body boycotted the first day of classes, and the school received bomb threats. On the following Friday night a fire gutted the Rays house.
The family chose to leave Arcadia and try to pick up the pieces of their lives elsewhere.

I'm sure the the PM and his family have a blood supply set aside if they ever should need it.

Good point.
It is 22 years since I lived in the UK but I am still not allowed to give blood here.

Of course. We only put other people's lives on the line to make a point.

where do you
find this stuff?
I clicked, by mistake on the link. I urge everyone to go have a look. It's like a swedish Harvard Lampoon, except I think it's supposed to be serious. puts the whole thing into context though. lots of euro-girlie-man America bashing. Hell hath no fury like a girlie man scorned...oh,wait, yes it does.

Of course. We only put other people's lives on the line to make a point.I just made a (short) dissertation elsewhere on how government, when it permits deviant behavior, has abrogated its responsibility -- in other words, it has betrayed, sold out, and/or done violence to -- non-deviants -- that is, normal human beings.
this is a contentious issue in a republic. bring on the culture war.

...in other words, it has betrayed, sold out, and/or done violence to -- non-deviants -- that is, normal human beings for quick profits for the
few and long term debt for the
mass population. I bring you the 9 Trillion Dollar American National Debt...
To: Major_Risktaker
I bring you the 9 Trillion Dollar American National Debt... well, it would be hard to pin the draw of all that money on deviant behavior...we're a growing business here, and growing businesses often take on debt to finance their growth.
maybe if you clarified your point for the simple among us (that is, me)...

The poor kids with hemophilia need tranfusions constantly during the early '80's and ended up with AIDS.
My favorite science fact/fiction author, Isaac Asimov, had a heart bypass operation around '85. You guessed it; got a blood tranfusion contaminated with the HIV virus. Killed him!

Thats a shame.
Like I stated earlier I cannot believe there are people who think this is some kind of "rights" issue.
Why the heck would a gay male want to donate their blood. They know that HIV has an incubation period that can last for years before it surfaces in an infected person.
I believe people have either forgotten what happened in the 1980's or they are to young and didn't live through it. Throw in the fact that many people believe that AIDS "doesn't discriminate". Nothing could be further from the truth. It is still predominantly a gay man's disease. The only exception may be the continent of Africa. Sadly the entire continent seems to be HIV positive. By the way most African's are banned from donating blood in the west as well.
To: the invisib1e hand
Right. Everyone in Sweden is "equal" and if not, they'll force you to be.
To: Bushwacker777
Is there a public demand(outcry) for high risk blood products? If not, this is a waste of time...........
To: Bushwacker777
" gay men should be allowed to give blood or donate organs"
Oh my, just want I wanted an HIV transfusion from some gay pervert. Amen
