LONDON, Aug. 6 (UPI) — Terrorists might be planning to use women and children as suicide bombers in future attacks in London, The Times of London reported. Citing internal Scotland Yard documents, the newspaper said thousands of Metropolitan police officers have received official "stop and search" guidance indicating that police are concerned terrorists might be preparing to change their tactics. "Terrorists will try to use our actions against us and will adapt their methods (use women or even children)," the document states, according to the report. The guidance was given to the 6,000 officers who have been deployed across London to guard against a third wave of terror -- following the July 7 London Underground bombings and the failed July 21 attacks. (snip) The Times reported the paper was released this weekend on the order of Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Ian Blair in response to controversy over claims that police are singling out Asian and black men for street searches. The rules instruct officers to avoid racial profiling or focusing on specific groups. (snip)
