Words of warning came from Toronto lawyer Bruce Walker, a gay and lesbian rights activist. "Generally speaking, marriage should be for love," he said. "People who don't marry for love will find themselves in trouble."

Radio host Michael Medved often debates this topic with leftist guests and callers. His favorite example is the one about his mother and her sister. They lived together for 30 years, did everything together, ran a business together, they were the best of friends. He always asks the homo activists why his mother and aunt shouldn't have had access to same-sex partner benefits and/or marriage? They loved one another dearly and shared a life together.

The activists and leftists never, NEVER have a good answer. They just want to dismiss it as an illegitimate question. But it isn't. I could certainly see widows/widowers or lifelong single people deciding to make a life together, live in the same home, share income, run a business, etc. It happens quite frequently. And why SHOULDN'T they be able to get "same-sex married"?

The issue of love to establish marriage has no place in law. You must not and can not have judges deciding if a marriage "had love". It is just too absurd.

I agree with you, but it's interesting to note that many of the legal twinings are heading in that direction - read my Post 79.

God created marriage to serve as a bond between two people (male and female) where the two shall leave their family and cleave together to become one new creation. This isn't purely metaphorical.

It was also created to model the love of Christ and His church through mutual submission and love "as a verb". I.e. to "die to self" and serve the other.

Serving a "feeling" as arbitrary and maleable as "love" is not submission, is not sacrifice, and is not truly loving the other. When people only marry and stay together because it "feels good", they are serving THEMSELVES, not their spouse.

Loving another means doing what is in his/her best interests even when we don't feel like it. Even when he/she doesn't deserve it.

Children may or may not result - that is up to free will and God's plan, as well. Although we are told that children are always a blessing to be desired. Regardless, the fact remains that a heterosexual marriage is the healthiest place for children on every level.

We live in a fallen world where God's purposes have been twisted and destroyed. We can't undo or prevent sin, but at the very least we can choose not to legislate it into acceptability.

Because it's all about sodomy. And they don't want to admit it.

I'd swear I was Queen Elizabeth herself or Napoleon if need be as long as it got me a tax cut.

When I saw "queer aisle," I had mental images of "the Barbie Doll aisle" at Wal-Mart. Pink...pink...pink. To quote a movie line, "It looks like it's been hosed down with Pepto Bismo."
