Only someone who has done zero homework on the actual writings and decisions of Judge Roberts could possibly think that he is a "judicial activist in disguise." Either do your homework, or stop muddying the waters for others.

Members of the press can be expected to write "news" articles and opinion pieces that have no relationship to the facts. But serious posters on FreeRepublic are held to a higher standard. We are supposed to do some basic reading, so we can participate productively in the on-line conversations.

It is time for you to do your homework.

Did you happen to read Ann Coulter's latest column wherein she describes the pre-Supreme Court rulings, writings, and conservative bona fides of David Souter? Scary, scary stuff. I have to admit, I'm a little nervous about Roberts, too (although my nervousness is somewhat tempered by my tremendous faith and confidence in Dubya).

And its important for the candidate to enlighten the country too. If it angers the Democrats so be it. On the all-important question of the courts role in our society, Roberts can't be all things to all people. The Democrats can't get the answer they're looking for, which is that a judge should make up the law to get the results they're looking for. We don't need those kind of judges on the bench and those we have now have wreaked havoc on our republican form of government.
