Interesting. I have referenced precisely those verses in arguing that God's creation cannot be ignored or deliberately falsified in order to give primacy to a myopically literalist interpretation of scripture. And I have been called a heathen and an idiot for doing so.

Are you suggesting that the evidence extant in God's creation supports a 6,000 year old earth and Noachian biological seeding of the entire planet? Or perhaps you are suggesting that God was being coy in those verses, and actually planted a lot of false evidence on the earth and in the universe to trick us into, what, hell?

I'll be happy to assert that. Let's start with Argon dating on rocks. The amout of argon present in newly formed rock in Hawaii and Washington is about the same as in rocks dated from 350 million to 500 million years, so the dating methods are false. The psuedo-science crowd simply says that the method only works on old rock, without providing any reasonable hypothesis upon which to rest. The only reason to stretch the time line is to allow for the statistical impossibility of evolution.

Furthermore, the problems with a young earth only start with materials-dating. You have pesky problems, to put it mildly, with pretty much the balance of the known universe.

I don't see how you can see a 'conspiracy' in spiritual blindness. It's the desire for God's word to be wrong that drives evolunacy. Just reading Stephen Gould's Wonderful Life makes that really clear.

Scientists have discovered one of the most intricate examples of convergent evolution with the help of South American "poison" frogs and ants and their cousins in Madagascar. (And here's an odd fact for smokers: one Madagascan frog studied was found to have nicotine in its system!)

The data I've seen on Hawaiian basalt has given ages of the order of 1 - 2 million years, or within statistical variation of zero.
