Talk about protesting...this grandma would love to protest something like THAT!

True...but the quality of the schools in general is so poor, they might as well seek an alternative. I admire him for taking a stand and making some attempt, however. It was much easier for me (not financially, though) to write a tuition check.

The radical gay agenda in the schools has gotten out of control. Primarily because busy working parents either don't fully understand what's being taught or because they think they can't take on the entire school system in their town.

Tammy Bruce's book, The Death of Right and Wrong, is a good place for parents to start in understand just how dangerous this agenda is to our children. It's a book that is a must read for parents and grandparents.

Bruce' book is well researched and quotes directly from dozens of outspoken advocates of the gay agenda as well as policy setters within the Department of Education.

One such quote is from Judith Levine, author and activist, said that "sex is not harmful to children...there are ways the smallest children can partake in it."

In Vemont, a program was instituted called Outright Vermont. Schools advertise this program on bulletin boards and the program materials include direct web links to adult gay male web sites. Two years ago, NYC opened the first gay high school in the nation.

Former Gov. Gay Davis of California signed a sex education law that requires students to adopt a healthy attitude toward homosexuality. The NEA has developed programs to incorporate the gay agenda in our public schools for children of all ages.

Many programs have been in place for more than 20 years and the curricula is getting more radical each year. The NEA is trying to force state governments to require both home schoolers and private schools to teach pro gay agendas or refuse to validate their diplomas. The NEA has successfully sponsored a curriculum which requires children to partake in "Gay Day" which involves playacting.

In March 2002, Penn State University featured an advocate of pedophilia at a women's health conference, despite congressional disapproval and parental concerns.

In 1998 the American Psychological Association claimed that pedophilia often "does not cause intense harm on a pervasive basis".

They also wanted their son removed from any "spontaneous conversations" about sexuality that involved an adult.

Good luck, folks. I suggest private school or homeschool.

And the really sick thing is that Lexington Mass - of Lexington and Concord fame has a school system that doesn't bother to understand the true meaning of Liberty of the Individual versus the control of a tyrannical state.

Just goes to show you that liberals continue to be tolerant of everything except Christianity.

A couple of weeks ago, my neighbor (who is a retired school teacher) kept telling my husband and me that we shouldn't send our youngest son (entering kindergarten) to a parochial school, as we did with our other 2 kids. He said that there is just so much more to offer at public school. Yeah, right. I totally understand why so many people opt out of the public school system and either send their children to private schools or home school them. That is our only hope against the ever-increasing brainwashing going on in schools today. Molding young minds to think their agenda is correct.

Hooray for this dad for doing his job and protecting his child!

The very purpose of the public school is the systematic destruction of the human personality in order to create a better world.

Get over it.

Parker had wanted to decide for himself the timing and manner in which his son was introduced to the subject of homosexuality.

And that's why my wife and I sacrifice to send our kids to Catholic school.  Even though he's only three, I can point to a rainbow flag, ask my son what it means and he'll yell "HOOOOH-MOOOOH!!!  HOOOOH-MOOOOH!!!  HOOOOH-MOOOOH!!!"

I find this situation absolutely amazing. Since when can a school dictate to a parent what their child will learn? I think home schooling would be preferable, but that is obviously not an option here.

Godspeed to this parent. This parent has more gusto than I do. I just homeschool my children so the issue doesn't come up and I don't have to blow a vein over it.

For the sake of the parents who do not homeschool- I hope this case makes some new standards in the education of our children.

Yes, homosexuals have the right to have a family- but I do not need to explain it to my 7 year old. The "birds and bees" are confusing enough at that age- we don't need to throw politics into it.

Lets try teaching the kids to read, and do basic math in elementary school.

When a 12 year old can get birth control without parental consent and 5 year olds are encouraged to touch their private parts, this sadly doesn't surprise me.

I have actually had a great deal of success in dealing with these sensitive issues in our public school system. Before my son even entered his mandatory "Health" class, I spoke with the teacher, went over the curriculum, and asked to be given the dates on which certain matters-and speakers-would be presented. I was treated with respect and kept fully abreast of all activities. Though the curriculum was abstinence based, they had a guest speaker come in to speak about contraception. The teacher email me a week before, honored my request for my son to be excluded, and insured that he was excluded discreetly so as to to make his absence the center of attention. I always felt as if they really appreciated my involvement. Apparently, my experience was the exception rather than the rule.

The nerve parents actually think they have some say in their kids education!
------
As a "past" veteran parent, who was sucsessful at removing several teachers from employment because of their socialist teachings, rantings and gross incompetency, I can say to some extent, that the complacency of parents has not helped the socialist take-over of the government school system. What we see here is just another of many examples of the arrogance, the leftist attitude that, after so many years of being protected and pandered to by leftists in government and the unions, has run amuck.

Parents need to reclaim their control over the government education system OR FIGHT FOR VOUCHERS, or just refuse to pay taxes for education, which is a HUGE percentage of state-level taxation. Personally, after going through what I went through, here in the state of California, I would NEVER PUT MY CHILDREN into a socialist-run government school at any price. NEVER!

But the real issue is whether parents or schools will control the teaching of values to children

This is the first principle of childhood education which is violated by compulsory attendance laws and tax-funding of gov't schools only. Our current system of schooling is fundamentally immoral.

Homosexual Agenda Ping.

Gotta grind out some articles here, they're piling up! More on the reprehensible case of a father arrested for trespassing while in the school disagreeing with homosexual indoctrination of his child.

Time to rip, snatch, grab your kids out of government schools. It isn't that hard to homeschool - there are many resources available. Homeschooled kids are the future of this country in many ways.

Freepmail me if you want on/off this pinglist.

He's right about the difference between tolerance and acceptance. If these perverts want tolerance, I'll give them just as much as I give any other american. No more, no less. If they want my acceptance of Pride parades, their sexual proclivities, and the teaching to kids that gay sex is normal , well they may have to wait. Exactly when is hell scheduled to freeze over?

What would happen if a public school teacher shot one of her students? And when I ask, “What would happen?” I’m referring to all sorts of things. Of course someone would be injured; there would be an arrest and a trial. There would be lots of media coverage. Certainly it would draw attention to the role of guns, violence, and possibly some background on the teacher. There would be an outraged group of parents. The school administration would have to make a statement and be prepared for a lawsuit. And if it were a one-time event, that would be about it.

So what might happen if during one school year a dozen teachers, across the nation, shot a dozen or more students? I hate to use the word frenzy, but it does come to mind. It would be tragic and there would be all kinds of appeals and discussions at all kinds of levels. I’m sure someone would petition Congress to do something. There would be widespread calls for stricter gun control. Background checks and psychological profiling of potential teachers would be on the table. There would be greater calls for home schooling. Demands would be made from parents’ organizations about safety, metal detectors, and classroom monitors.

And then there’s the media. Just imagine the headlines and the magazine covers. Think what Oprah and Dr. Phil might do. Who would they have on as guests and what might their topics be?

Well, there haven’t been that many shootings, but something like this is happening. On an almost weekly basis public school teachers across the country have been arrested for having sexual affairs with one or more students.

Why aren’t we seeing a response from the NEA when it comes to the topic of public school teachers being sexually involved with their students? Or, why is the NEA so concerned with teaching children about homosexuality while ignoring its own sexual predators?
