Time will tell. I believe we must remember, there where lots of mistakes made by all, non-political folks, as well as political, and otherwise. The mind set was not focused as is now the case. I for one based on the whole scenario we have witnessed post 9/11, can readily understand not one's political party affiliations does not neccesarily make one a good or bad guy. We have to remember, before the Clintoons got in GHB ran the show, before him, Reagan ran the show, before him Yimmity catta and King Richard ran the show. Much of the Intel community and interfacing government agencies all had the same mentalities for better or worse. So when I said Jammie should be wearing a chain and ball, I could probably point out a few Republicans that also should be getting a chaffed ankle, and tired leg. Of course Burger, there is no excuse for, he allowed to much on his watch to slip by. If only the Sandia mismanagment he oversaw, with the Chicom professor etc., should have placed him in jail for a long time. At any rate I am starting to rave. What's new? Hind site is nice. Is it fair for us to single out lets say Gorelick and not bring up once again, how Ronnie simply withdrew our Marines and other troops from Lebanon after those Marine barracks where attacked? There is plenty of finger pointing can be done on both sides of the isles as well as the independent middle. Should we not recognize that so many things where done wrong for many years, some here could write books on, and move on with the understanding business as usual is no longer acceptable. The stakes are simply to high.
Hopefully this will not go away, but this time gain some meaningfull steam. But let us hope it's end goal shall be to inforce the new concept of all the agencies working together for the common good. If some must be prosecuted, or at least publically disfigured so be it. Perhaps their examples shall be a fair warning to all in the future, America's safety must come first.

I've been so darn busy at work this is the first chance I've gotten to read about this in some detail.
What a mess. I'm hopeful that the 9/11 Commission deals with the matter *this time*.
