Is there an actual use for this thing or it just for guys who like big trucks?
LOL! I love the 1950s passenger train locomotive styling of the GM "Futurliner".
Actually this wouldn't be a great monster truck for off road... wheelbase is too long, I'd bottom that out easily offroad taking small mogul type hills..
Flash - sKerry is slumming this week. According to Imus, sKerry showed up at the Imus ranch driving a F-150 and towing a trailer with a Harley. (yes Imus is still in lust with sKerry)
You could get His entire cross on that thing.
Yea that Futureliner was hysterical wasn't it? Hey GM.. make a train... Duh.. Ok. lets take a bus frame and try to make train cars out of it... and make the front and end of the train take its styling cues from our cars....
Lasted less than what? 2 years or so in service.
Just saw one of them in Green Bay at the National Train museum... gave me a good chuckle.
The sides lowered on that thing. It was like a moving stage.
Maybe so. It's just not a practical thing, IMO. Why waste money on a behemoth like that?
Was he wearing his jockstrap?
You can always put the snowplow back on.
"Don't! I think it's the refueling probe..."
Which should extend said barbed probe out to be thrust into the tanks of small economy cars while on the freeway, to suck them dry and leave their husks on the shoulder... ;-)
HERE HERE!
Man oh man, am I glad I got the whole car thing (sports cars) out of my system when I was young enough to appreciate them along with the type of girls who are attracted them...
Put the armor protection plates on and that is a rig any GI would be proud to drive.
My thoughts exactly, side clearance too. My VUE gets enough scratches merely from narrow pathways, this thing wouldn't even fit on some of the mountainous areas I've been in without one side hanging in free space...
Yea, this is clearly a status symbol, penis envy vehicle. Practicality has nothing to do with it.
I love almost all of the 50's stylings. Fins and streamlining. Yeah, Baby!
Just a few complaints; The last gear must do better than 75 MPH- tractor trailers do 85-95 on the I-15 between CA and NV:) Keep the road clearance but drop the height a foot- 8 feet high is enough to see everything around you for 5 miles. Get one of those truck top companies to develop a camper shell for it- 2 people can disappear in it for a few days with a mini fridge, mini stove and sleeping space if the bed was 10 feet long. Drop the price to $80K from $120K; it will be a loss leader for a short while until production ramps up to demand!
