Cindy Sheehan of Vacaville, Calif., gathers herself as she recounts stories of her son to a reporter by a tent that she is staying in on the side of the road that leads to President Bush's ranch, Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2005, in Crawford, Texas. Her simple, quiet protest of the war that took her son's life is gaining momentum as dozens joined her Wednesday at the site.
Cindy Sheehan Quotes
In addition, my son was killed after L. Paul Bremer inflamed the Shi'a by taking away their tv station and newspapers. The Abu Ghraib scandal was about to break in America...but it was well known by the Iraqi people that their citizens were being tortured and defiled in the prisons. My son was a sitting duck by the time 04/04/04 rolled around.
Am I emotional? Yes, my first born was murdered. Am I angry? Yes, he was killed for lies and for a PNAC Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the Army to protect America, not Israel. Am I stupid? No, I know full-well that my son, my family, this nation, and this world were betrayed by a George Bush who was influenced by the neo-con PNAC agenda after 9/11. We were told that we were attacked on 9/11 because the terrorists hate our freedoms and democracy...not for the real reason, becuase the Arab-Muslims who attacked us hate our middle-eastern foreign policy. That hasn't changed since America invaded and occupied Iraq...in fact it has gotten worse.
I will live in unbearable pain until I die. First of all, because my first born was killed violently, and second of all, because he was killed for a neo-con agenda that only benefits a very chosen few in this world. This agenda and their war machine will chew up and spit out as many of our children as they can unless we stop them now.
...Please use your forum to expose the lies and the devastation this invasion/occupation is causing. We should not stay. We should not let Israel/USA invade Syria or Iran.
http://tinyurl.com/avwer "And the other thing I want him to tell me is 'just what was the noble cause Casey died for?' Was it freedom and democracy? Bullshit! He died for oil. He died to make your friends richer. He died to expand American imperialism in the Middle East. We're not freer here, thanks to your PATRIOT Act. Iraq is not free. You get America out of Iraq and Israel out of Palestine and you'll stop the terrorism," she exclaimed."

We began the killing as soon as we stepped foot on these shores and the
killing has gone on unabated for over 200 years.
There has always been excuses for wars, but NONE of them have been good or
valid.
George Bush and his neo-conservatives killed my son, she said tearing up a bit. America has been killing people on this continent since it was started. This country is not worth dying for.
Theyre not waging a War on Terror but a War of Terror, she said. The biggest terrorist is George W. Bush.
9/11 was Pearl Harbor for the neo-conservatives agenda and declared the U.S. government a morally repugnant system.
We have no Constitution. Were the only country with no checks and balances. We want our country back if we have to impeach George Bush down to the person who picks up the dog sh-t in Washington! Let George Bush send his two little party animals to die in Iraq. Its OK for Israel to have nuclear weapons but we are waging nuclear war in Iraq, we have contaminated the entire country. Its not OK for Syria to be in Lebanon. Hypocrites! But Israel can occupy Palestine? Stop the slaughter!

Is there anyone in America who cannot yet see that Donald Runsfeld is a liar...that he, as with Hitler and Stalin....will say anything so long as he thinks it will help shape the world to his own liking? Is there even one, sane adult among us who cannot see that Donald Rumsfeld is a threat to our nation's security and to peace on our beloved earth?
As soft-spoken and sincere-sounding as Paul Wolfowitz is, is there yet any sane adult in this country who's skin does not crawl when this murderous liar opens his mouth and speaks? Am I the only person in this room who clearly sees that Paul Wolfowitz is a threat to our nation's security...and to peace on our beloved earth?"
Our country has been overtaken by murderous thugs....gangsters who lust after fortunes and power; never caring that their addictions are at the expense of our loved ones, and the blood of innocent people near and far. We've watched these thugs parade themselves before the whole world as if they are courageous advocates for Christian moral values....and for the spread of democracy. Yet we all know that they are now putting in place, all across this country, a system of voting that provides no way to validate the accuracy of the counting of the votes. Our loved ones have been buried in early graves even as these arrogant thugs parade themselves before the entire world, insisting that democracy is worth dying for, killing for, and destroying entire cities for, all the while they are busy here at home overseeing the emplacement of an electronic voting system that invites fraud at every turn, an electronic vote-counting system that provides no way to validate the votes cast, and that, by it's very design, prohibits recounting the votes.
For these men to not see to it that our own system of voting and vote-counting is accurate, understandable and verifiable...all the while sending our loved ones to kill and to die so as to establish a democracy in some far away place......this is just one more staggering piece of evidence that the US government is now ruled by murderous hypocrites...criminals who should be arrested, charged appropriately, confined behind bars, and then tried in a court of law...not only here in our own country, but also in all the other countries which have suffered their incomprehensible greed. In their secret hiding places, while celebrating newly won fortunes with their fellow brass, these men must surely congratulate themselves with orgies of carnal pleasure as they mock the dwindling multitudes who are yet so blind as to mistake them for God's devoted servants.

Please add Cindy quotes--with links. It might help get the truth out about this anti-American propagandist.
"As long as our young people are being lied to and used so dishonorably in an unjust invasion and occupation of another country; as long as they are fighting for a corrupt government and still without the proper equipment, food, training, or leadership; as long as moms are having to hold bake sales to buy their sons body armor; as long as our soldiers are being held against their wills long after they have done their duty; as long as they are being sent to kill innocent people; military service should be opposed. Lets affirm life in the fullest for everybody: the unfortunate, uncounted people living Iraq who are "acceptable" collateral damage to the war hawks, and our own indispensable loved ones. The only way to support our troops is to bring them home from this mess now."

Even if one agrees with some or part of her screed, how can you place 60 years of U.S. foreign policy solely at the feet of President Bush?
www.gsfp.org and then click on the "contacts" box.
In a perfect world, Sheehan and all her fellow ideologues would all be at ground zero when the first Iranian terror nuke hits.
I think she is just trying to get a seat on Jane Fonda's bus.
Hey Cindy, take a sec and read this article from last year. A jog your memory kind of thing.

Bush, Sheehans share moments
By David Henson/Staff Writer
Since learning in April that their son, Army Spc. Casey Sheehan, had been killed in Iraq, life has been everything but normal for the Sheehan family of Vacaville.
Casey's parents, Cindy and Patrick, as well as their three children, have attended event after event honoring the soldier both locally and abroad, received countless letters of support and fielded questions from reporters across the country.
"That's the way our whole lives have been since April 4," Patrick said. "It's been surreal."
But none of that prepared the family for the message left on their answering machine last week, inviting them to have a face-to-face meeting with President George W. Bush at Fort Lewis near Seattle.
Surreal soon seemed like an understatement, as the Sheehans - one of 17 families who met Thursday with Bush - were whisked in a matter of days to the Army post and given the VIP treatment from the military. But as their meeting with the president approached, the family was faced with a dilemma as to what to say when faced with Casey's commander-in-chief.
"We haven't been happy with the way the war has been handled," Cindy said. "The president has changed his reasons for being over there every time a reason is proven false or an objective reached."
The 10 minutes of face time with the president could have given the family a chance to vent their frustrations or ask Bush some of the difficult questions they have been asking themselves, such as whether Casey's sacrifice would make the world a safer place.
But in the end, the family decided against such talk, deferring to how they believed Casey would have wanted them to act. In addition, Pat noted that Bush wasn't stumping for votes or trying to gain a political edge for the upcoming election.
"We have a lot of respect for the office of the president, and I have a new respect for him because he was sincere and he didn't have to take the time to meet with us," Pat said.
Sincerity was something Cindy had hoped to find in the meeting. Shortly after Casey died, Bush sent the family a form letter expressing his condolences, and Cindy said she felt it was an impersonal gesture.
"I now know he's sincere about wanting freedom for the Iraqis," Cindy said after their meeting. "I know he's sorry and feels some pain for our loss. And I know he's a man of faith."
The meeting didn't last long, but in their time with Bush, Cindy spoke about Casey and asked the president to make her son's sacrifice count for something. They also spoke of their faith.
While meeting with Bush, as well as Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, was an honor, it was almost a tangent benefit of the trip. The Sheehans said they enjoyed meeting the other families of fallen soldiers, sharing stories, contact information, grief and support.
For some, grief was still visceral and raw, while for others it had melted into the background of their lives, the pain as common as breathing. Cindy said she saw her reflection in the troubled eyes of each.
"It's hard to lose a son," she said. "But we (all) lost a son in the Iraqi war."
The trip had one benefit that none of the Sheehans expected.
For a moment, life returned to the way it was before Casey died. They laughed, joked and bickered playfully as they briefly toured Seattle.
For the first time in 11 weeks, they felt whole again.
"That was the gift the president gave us, the gift of happiness, of being together," Cindy said.

"Then yesterday when I was traveling from event to event again, I got another phone call from a hysterical mom, Summer, whose son had been killed in Iraq in April of this year. Her medic son was found face down on his bunk with some morphine bottles around him. Summer was told that he died of a drug overdose and the report stated that her daughter-in-law and her sons battle buddies all said that he abused drugs in Iraq. Summer was devastated. She knew her boy. She knew her son didnt take drugs.
She finally got a hold of the reports that contradicted what she was told by the military. All of the people interviewed said her son DID NOT abuse drugs. She received the toxicology report 2 months after her son died and he DID NOT have any drugs in his system. How did Summers son die and why is the Army trying to cover it up? Wasnt it bad enough that this government took Summers son and killed him in an unjust, immoral, and illegal war? They had to lie to her, too?"

The scary part is she's allowed to vote.
"We began the killing as soon as we stepped foot on these shores and the
killing has gone on unabated for over 200 years."
"There has always been excuses for wars, but NONE of them have been good or valid."
Cindy, it allows your sorry arse to protest in Crawford, TX, and it's taken much sacrifice and blood to allow you to do this, so do not lecture this country on our heritage!
She has all of the Code Pink talking points down pat.
"None of our wars have been for a good cause"
"Neocons"
"Rumsfeld"
"Oil"
"Make friends rich"
"Israel"
"Hitler"
By the way, what is PNAC?
I have a couple of Iranian friends whose kids signed up. They did just fine. ...Though to be fair, they had already been through the process of becoming U.S. citizens.
Oh my goodness, I never noticed that before. She's actually from cow-ville. How very appropriate!
I'm starting to think that the more she talks the more she's making herself a non-issue, so let her talk away.
Please don't posts links to lewrockwell
Thanks
Can you just remove the links, rather than lose all the quotes?
They show up in numerous places--but Rockwell just had them conveniently archived.
Unfortunately, we're not able to edit replies.
Fine. I'll stop wasting my time.
On that site I see a counter :Cost of the War in Iraq
$186,844,776,238
Wow. I hadn't realized it was so cheap. It's pretty similar to half the costs to our economy of the WTC attacks - with about half the dead.
Since there is no country called Palestine where is this that Israel is supposed to get out of?
Cindy was just on the ABC News radio break. She said that if Bush won't talk to her by Aug 31st that "we" will be taking the protest to Washington. The radio station should put the BBQ back on because by using the word "we" she has identified what she is doing as not being the act of a "grieving" mother, but an organized protest. The gloves come off. She also sounds crazier when you hear her than when you read her comments.
In WWII the Eighth Air Force alone lost 40,000 men.
More lies.
Cindy? Is that you? LOL
(You don't agree with me at all. I believe Cindy Sheehan is a traitorist lunatic.)
We're nuking every Sheehan troll on sight. Give it up.
I see you signed up today for this garbage. There are lots of posters on this site who have sons, daughters, and other relatives serving at this time. So, go back to DU where they think like you.
My brother and only sibling, who was a pilot in the Air Force for nine years, didn't have any say about flying into Bosnia and Croatia a number of times in aid of Bubba's adventures in foreign policy. He was not a combat pilot, but if you will recall the Serbs were known to fire a missile or two at our planes. My brother voluntarily joined the military for a nine-year hitch knowing full well he could be sent anywhere by a commander in chief he might or might not like or trust. All others who join the military do exactly the same, so this "pick and choose, if it's important to you then you send your family members or go yourself" argument is completely absurd. Did my brother have the option to decline Bubba's orders if he did not agree with the mission? No, he didn't.
Do you think that a few have signed up with different names?
After a direct hit, they're tough to ID.
;-)
Since we set foot on these shores in about 1620 it's good to know that killing stopped in about 1820.
Oh, this has been an organized protest from day one. Cindy glommed onto the the ultra-left (taxpayer funded) Veterans For Peace convention, which had been planning a "protest" at the White House in September for months:

The Veterans for Peace National Convention wraps up today at the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas.
So anyway, Im gonna go to Crawford tomorrow, and Im gonna say I want to talk to him, and they say, hes not coming out, Im gonna set up my tent there until he comes out to talk to me.
And I have the whole month of August off, just like him. Its just the way it worked out, I was supposed to go to England tomorrow to do some Downing Street things, but Conyers cancelled, so hey, I have a lot of free time on my hands, and Im gonna stay until he comes out and talks to me. And if he quits his vacation and goes to D.C., Ill pull my tent up, Ill go to D.C., and put it on the White House lawn, and Ill be waiting for you guys when you get there September 24th.

Another mother whose son was found dead in Iraq, they told her that he died from a drug overdose. Three months later, they got the toxicology report; no drugs. She was devastated, she said, I know my son, he did not do drugs. She was told that her sons wife and his battle buddies said in a report that yes, her son abused drugs in Iraq. But when she got that report it said categorically that no, he did not abuse drugs. So how did her son die?"

It doesn't quite mean that.
1620 -> 2005 = 385 years
385 years is covered by "over 200".
C'mon, didn't you learn how to parse statements at all during the Clinton administration? (smile)
At first,I felt sorrow for this woman and her family Now I see what's going on. these commies really think it's the 70's and we're still in S.E. asia. freedom of speech or not we must rein these idiots in before they cause real harm
what a freak!
the war criminals in Washington, D.C., they dont even lose a nights sleep. Then we have this lying bastard, George Bush, taking a 5-week vacation in a time of war. You know what? Im never going to get to enjoy another vacation, because of him.
My vacation probably - -this is really sad because I have a really cute dress I was going to wear to the banquet tomorrow night, but Im either gonna be in jail or in a tent in Crawford, waiting until that jerk comes out and tells me why my son died.
But do you think George Bush will interrupt his vacation and go visit the families of those 20 marines that have died in Ohio this week? No, because he doesnt care, he doesnt have a heart. Thats not enough to stop his little playing cowboy game in Crawford for 5 weeks.
So anyway that filth-spewer and warmonger, George Bush was speaking after the tragedy of the marines in Ohio, he said a couple things that outraged me. Seriously outraged me. And I know I dont look like Im outraged, Im always so calm and everything, thats because if I started hitting something, I wouldnt stop til it was dead."

But I dont care, Im goin. And Im gonna tell them, You get that evil maniac out here, cuz a Gold Star Mother, somebody whos blood is on his hands, has some questions for him.
And Im gonna say, OK, listen here, George. #1, you quit, and I demand, every time you get out there and say youre going to continue the killing in Iraq to honor the fallen heroes by continuing the mission; you say, except Casey Sheehan.
And you say except for all the members of Goldstar Families for Peace cuz we think not one drop of blood should be spilled in our families names. You quit doing that. You dont have my permission.
And Im gonna say, And you tell me, what the noble cause is that my son died for. And if he even starts to say freedom and democracy Im gonna say, bullshit.
You tell me the truth. You tell me that my son died for oil. You tell me that my son died to make your friends rich. You tell me my son died to spread the cancer of pax Americana, imperialism in the Middle East. You tell me that, you dont tell me my son died for freedom and democracy.
Cuz, were not freer. Youre taking away our freedoms. The Iraqi people arent freer, theyre much worse off than before you meddled in their country.
You get America out of Iraq, you get Israel out of Palestine...
(massive round of applause)
