i dont know. While i dislike what this woman has to say, she is also a victim. She lost her son in the war and is now being used by the left as a tool. Even her family is upset about that (see drudge today). They probably have it pretty crappy as it is.

We're probably gonna hold a protest in front of YOUR house for posting a vanity in "Breaking News" on your first day!

I understand that some of her relatives have come out against her. I do wonder if she is concerned that maybe her son despises her from his grave.

Welcome to Free Republic.

I think it's a good idea, but not worth the trouble, as another poster said. But a good idea nonetheless.

Please keep posting and reading. We need bright people like you around here. It's easy to get jaded (in case you hadn't noticed).

Usually it is better, when someone is making an idiot out of themselves, as is poor Mrs. Sheehan, to just stay out of the way and let them do it.

A counter-protest would only rally those who hate us, and make her rantings legitimate.

As Rush said, just let them talk. They destroy their own position much better than we can.

From Tonight's The Drudge Report:

FAMILY OF FALLEN SOLDIER PLEADS: PLEASE STOP, CINDY!
Thu Aug 11 2005 12:56:21 ET

The family of American soldier Casey Sheehan, who was killed in Iraq on April 4, 2004, has broken its silence and spoken out against his mother Cindy Sheehan's anti-war vigil against George Bush held outside the president's Crawford, Texas ranch.

The following email was received by the DRUDGE REPORT from Casey's aunt and godmother:

Our family has been so distressed by the recent activities of Cindy we are breaking our silence and we have collectively written a statement for release. Feel free to distribute it as you wish.

Thanks, Cherie

In response to questions regarding the Cindy Sheehan/Crawford Texas issue: Sheehan Family Statement:

The Sheehan Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the the expense of her son's good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan Family supports the troops, our country, and our President, silently, with prayer and respect.

Sincerely,

Casey Sheehan's grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

Developing...

How about some families who have lost loved ones and have them come down to Crawford and tell everyone Cindy is causing more of our troops to die by emboldening the enemy.

Have some of her family that she can't bother to talk to now come down too. Family Feud in Crawford. The RATS started this it's time to tell them to shut up

She needs an audience with Dr. Phil, not President Bush.

If you're not an agent provocateur, you certainly have come up with a bad idea, a public relations nightmare.

I hope that you were just not thinking things through when you posted (I've made that mistake). If upon reflection, you really still think that this is a good idea, maybe your name is Ned (click here). :)

Bad idea. She's just the latest flavor of the month for the left, to be discarded and forgotten when they find something new to use.

I disagree with an event in front of or anywhere near the Sheehan home. Regardless of Cindy's behaviors, there is mourning going on. And, it would further trouble Casey's siblings, May the Good Lord Bless and Keep them each, and together.

I know Vacaville well, and the surrounding area. A great many patriots live in that area, there, constantly bashed by liberalism.

But holding a support the troops, memorium for Casey would be productive, IMHO. How about City Hall, a veterans cemetary? There are others, in that area who are mourning their own soldiers' demise. -- And more with loved ones serving.

Be good to rally them in the name of love, comfort, and support. IMHO.

Not a bad idea.

I'll leave the praying for her to others more worthy.

I tend to run along the line...you get back what you give out.

considered camping out in front of Cindy Sheehan's home in Vacaville and demand that she come out and answer a series of ridiculous questions,

Why give her a chance to gain sympathy?
The President has said he will not meet with the left wing liberal activist for a second time. Period. End of story.
She needs to go home and find psychiatric help, so she'll understand how she's disgraced her sons memory and embarrassed her family, and how she needs to deal with the damage she alone has created.
This is her problem, and not a problem for the American people or our President.

Is Cindy Sheehan in that same ditch that you're in? The ditch is the same ditch that Sheehan is camping next to, right?

Your choice of screen name and posting a very bad idea on the first day after registration makes it clear (now that I've caught some sleep) that you are indeed an agent provocateur.

Anyway, I'll thank you for the laughs by giving a special fire ant repellant.

Mix about two tablespoons of honey (molasses will do as well) with a cup of water. Using a paper towel, apply solution liberally to your shoes, socks, and lower legs. The Ph of the water reacts with the sugar to repel the fire ants who would otherwise be attracted to the sugar. Feel free to liberally share this idea with others in or at the ditch.

Has anyone considered camping out in front of Cindy Sheehan's home in Vacaville

That would be over the top.
