The Mother of All Mourners, Cindy Sheehan, unintentionally gave away her true motives and that of the collection of pro-totalitarian leftist groups often incorrectly identified as "antiwar" by the habitually "lazy" mainstream media, the other night on Mess-NBC (MSNBC) "Countdown" hosted by Keith Olbermann.
The amazing aspect of this exchange is Olbermanns failure to follow up with critical questions like:
"So Mrs. Sheehan, your real purpose all along has not been an unprecedented second meeting with an incumbent President of the United States, but rather an ongoing denigration of the President as you use powerful, emotional symbolism to make him appear an ogre?"
No such question was asked, in fact, Oblermann appeared to realize that Sheehans comments were a major gaffe and that it was best to let them sit there and move on.
Heres the exchange:
OLBERMANN: The nature of the media coverage youre getting now, the response from other families of soldiers killed in Iraq, all of that, from the perspective of your protest there, in a way, isnt it really better if President Bush doesnt meet with you?
SHEEHAN: I would think so, yes. I think its great. And if he would come out right now, it would really defuse the momentum, and I dont want to give them any hints. And I think thats something theyve probably already thought about.
But, you know, but were here. Were committed. Were staying the whole month of August, and then were moving to Washington, D.C. And were going to have a 24-hour vigil on his front lawn to keep the pressure on. The pressure is there. Sixty-two percent of Americans want our troops home. And this is giving them a voice to stand up and be counted and say, You know, we want our country back, and we want our troops home."
Diffuse the momentum? So, it was really never about a "second meeting", right? Never really about grief, correct? There are more families out there that have lost loved ones, and they do not share the leftist, "antiwar" politics of communists like Michael Moore, Medea Benjamin and Code Pink and communist fronts like the Fenton Communications, Tides Foundation, and George Soros, etc.
They also dont have the luxury to camp out for an entire month in Texas because most of them do something that the majority of professional protesters never do: They work. They hold down jobs.
