It would have been hard to imagine in 2001, when the U.S. began responding to Islamic terrorism, that one of the most difficult battles of the war would be overcoming the legal landmines laid by domestic liberals on behalf of the enemy.

I can honestly say that the partisan opposition to the war on terror does not surprise me in the least. I was amazed that it took as long as it did to surface. Frankly, I think the unity from 9/11 shocked even the socialists, and it took them awhile to get their anti-American forces mobilized. They did -- eventually -- and the obstructionism, naysaying, and hand-wringing you see today from the Kennedy/Pelosi/Boxer/Clinton cadre is evidence.

The cultural marxists see in the promotion of Islam within America and the West yet another multicultural avenue to dilute and denude America of its historic Americanism. Their quest for Open Borders -- again, labeling those opposed as racist -- is the latest drive to destroy the concept of American sovereignty, sovereignty being the last obstacle to the internationalism they wish to institute and enforce.

And this same group doing this to the USA is demanding Israel surrender it's land to terrorists

For a populace to support a war for a prolonged period, it must feel its homeland is directly threatened or apprehend an enemy motivated by an ideology calling for imminent arrival onto her shores for the purpose of destruction and upheaval. Failure to spotlight this ideology and call it by its name, leaves people complacent, exclaiming: What, me worry!

I wonder if the President will read this piece...it is excellent.

I suggest the problem is that both the secular left and Islam are at war against the same enemy...believing Jews and Christians and Jesus and Jehovah.

Islam and the secular-humansists worship the same god (the anti-G_d) and it is that anti-G_d that is directing their actions, and doing so rather nicely, if you look at the big picture.

As to the secular-humanists, they love America alright, but it is a different American...it is not the America of the American Right. We cannot expect them to fight for or defend our America. But we can expect them to do exactly what they are doing. We can expect them to join forces with the Islamists (and the Palestinians...like Cindy Sheehan is doing) and with anyone that takes sides against the faithful Jews and Christians. Oddly, even secular Jews and nominal Christians are jumping on their bandwagon by turning their backs on Israel and the G_d of Israel.

Long story, short...until our leadership tells us the truth by clearly defining the enemy both inside and outside the country, we cannot hope for victory.

The war will not begin in earnest until it is declared and it cannot be declared until the enemy is defined. I don't believe our leadership is in league with the enemy...I just believe they aren't ready to lead the entire county into the real war. They are willing to lead our soldiers into a conventional war of arms, but they are not willing to lead the rest of us into the ideological and religious aspect of this war.

The Islamist believes this war has just begun and will not end until they are victorious. At the same time, one of the ranks of the internal enemy, Frank Rich of the NYT, announces that the war is over...and Cindy Sheehan and the Presbyterian Church announce that Israel should leave...well, should leave Israel. And there is Jimmy Carter, Dick Dorgan, T.Kennedy, and the ACLU. Yep, looks like the enemy has no trouble defining its enemy.

Mr. President, when will you lead the American Right and believing Christians and Jews into this war.

Obviously, for the Left, racism is not a human concern but a selective political tool used to condemn and confuse us

Insightful.

I think the author is very close to describing what "racism" is and isn't. I think it closer to what we could conceive as witchcraft and superstition. Nevertheless it has political consequences.
