CRAWFORD, Texas (AP) - At least one of President Bush's neighbors in Crawford, Texas, seems to be getting fed up with a growing anti-war protest.
As dozens of demonstrators gathered on the road leading to the president's ranch, a shot was fired into the air.
Deputies rushed to the home of Larry Mattlage, who admitted firing his shotgun, but he says it was to prepare for dove-hunting season. When asked if he had another motive, he said, "Figure it out for yourself."
Mattlage says he wasn't threatening anyone, adding, "This is Texas."
The anti-war vigil began earlier this month. It was started by Cindy Sheehan, whose son was killed in action in Iraq. She says she plans to stay outside the Bush ranch for three more weeks

Somehow that doesn't seem real smart, an empty threat that makes our side look like thugs.

Need about 100 good ole boys firing guns randomly. Throw in some country music on loudspeakers and some fine Texas red meat BBQ. The granola birkenstock crowd should flee in terror.
As a last resort bring out bars of soap, deodorant, and garden hoses. Threaten to wash them.

The very idea that law "enforcement" would enter a rural property because someone shoots a shotgun (on his personal property) is troublesome.

He should invite local law enforcement to train with tear gas, UPWIND of the Sheehan and the other kooks.

Seems that perhaps, when she's back home, a long FReep of equal duration to her escapade in Crawford is due - right in front of her house.

We should have a couter-protest in support of Larry. We can all go to his farm and support him through this trying time.
Also, a lady called in to the laura ingraham show and said the sheehan protestors were basically filthy people (throwing cig. butts everywhere, etc.) and that they were low class.HAHA!
I think setting up a rifle range right next to the protestors is in order.
Maybe also a skeet range, with harmless peppering falling down on the liberals.
