Very interesting point. Might it be that he needed a stage from which to promote and politicize his latest agenda? Then you might ask why he did not preach from a Mosque. The message then might not get to the right crowd. Or worse, it might bring attention to muslims when his agenda for the day is not about muslims.

I'm waiting for the day that a Baptist, a Catholic or even a Unitarian Universalist is invited to speak at a mosque.
