PHOENIX Governor Napolitano is considering taking steps similar to a state of emergency declared by New Mexico's governor because of problems associated with the U-S-Mexico border.

New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson's declaration covered four New Mexico counties along the border and let him free up money to help law enforcement, to pay for a state Office of Homeland Security field office, to fence a Columubs-area livestock yard where cattle have been killed or stolen and other similar efforts.

This woman doesn't have an original thought in her head.

What about Prop 200, Janet?

Yawn.

But what the hey some people on FR can be and are willing to be manipulated and played like a violin by hillary and the democrats, with minor administrative moves.

No, I realize its a political move. What I'm saying is we need to expose her. She refused to allow Prop 200 to take effect, and she should have to answer to that.

Let's be honest though, it is a smart political move. It takes a major issue away from her republican challenger next year.

Democrats are picking up on a subject that most people agree with. Neocons beware!

Not smart, but deceptive and you know it, but some on FR will become her Monica because she cynically pandered to them.

This will put Perry and Arnold in a tight spot as well. If both Dem. Governors take these steps, how can two Republicans not?

And from a GOP candidate in 2008. The proper response here is to DEMAND that people like Nap. and Richardson support initiatives like Prop 200 that are already passed, while keeping up the heat on the GOP---but make no mistake: this issue is huge, and the GOP is going to suffer mightily if it does not get on the right side of the illegal issue by 2008.

I agree. She is a fruad. But being deceptive and being smart can sometimes be one in the same. Just look at Hillary.

I disagree with you about this not being a smart move, however. 80% of the nation wants these steps taken. Picking up on an issue that the country wants dealt with is a smart move.

How are things going in hillary's basement.

Your "neocons beware" nonsense betrays you.

When Richardson did it I thought he was making a move for President. Now Napoliano isn't presidential material. I think Hillary told her to do it.

Dane, you are willing to give away our country just to make the point of how much you hate Hitlery. Isn't that the exact tactic used by the Dems? Do, or say anything to get rid of bush, including allowing terrorist to roam or streets. II is the biggest problem facing our country right now. If the Repubs do not wake up, your worse nightmare will come true.

No. She is looking to become President of the Democratic Governors Association(Not sure if that is the correct name of the organization).

Dems can appear to be doing something about it without actually doing something about it. Republicans can do something about it without actually appearing to do something about it.

Cynical=smart? You know that napolitano doesn't mean what she says and yet you are calling her "smart".

I call that deceptive, but what they hey if you think being deceptive=smart, that says a lot about your "values".

BTW what 80%? I can show you a Fox news poll where 1/2 the people want to keep welfare benefits for illegals.

I'm not calling her smart. I'm not calling her honest either. I'm saying this is a smart political move on her part.
