Still, most Americans seem to feel that... America should continue to be a beacon to the disadvantaged and oppressed peoples of the world..."

Beacon, yes.

Free ride: NO!

These are the kinds of folks at Carlsbad representing the Open Borders Lobby:

America-haters who equate Old Glory with a Nazi swastika,

And neo-Communists still peddling "Workers of the world unite!"

"For blame look no further than the Bush administration and the Congress, whose failure to deal effectively with illegal immigration has allowed it to spiral out of control."

That applies to the previous administration and previous congresses as well -- and no doubt will apply to future administrations and congresses -- democrat or republican.

The question is why? What is the simple truth here? Can it be explained in twenty-five words or less?

At issue here is nothing less than the right of a sovereign nation to control its own borders and to regulate who may enter.

Still, most Americans seem to feel that immigrants will continue to play an important role in our country’s growth and that America should continue to be a beacon to the disadvantaged and oppressed peoples of the world seeking a better life.

I don't believe this, as most Americans may be stupid but still possess enough knowledge for self preservation.

America's traitorous politicians have redistributed America's wealth to the point that we are close to bankruptcy. American workers are being fired from good jobs with benefits, and are seeing Mexicans take the jobs for almost nothing and no benefits. Not only that, the American tax payers are being forced to pay the benefits of these people, so the big business can reap the rewards. One day it will all come to an end, when America returns to life as it was in the 30s.

Disadvantaged and oppressed people of the world are that way because of the criminals they elect to take over their governments. Once Bush gets this country filled with illegals from these nations, we'll see the same criminals rise to power in this country and we'll become a huge third world nation ourselves.

Who can blame them, given the lack of economic opportunities and social services in their native countries? Many of us, in their position, would do the same.

The author thinks that many Americans would choose to break the law just to earn more money than they're currently earning. The author is a moron.
