Driver Crushes Crosses At Anti-War Protest Site
KWTX ^

Posted on 08/16/2005 10:50:44 AM PDT by Frenetic

Larry Northern, 59, of McLennan County, was charged Tuesday with Criminal Mischief Over $1,500 and under $20,000 after a pickup truck tore through a row of white crosses erected by anti-war protesters gathered near the President’s ranch in Crawford.

Bail was set at $3,000.

The crosses bear the names of U.S. military personnel who have died in the war in Iraq.

Witnesses said the driver swerved the truck in and out of the makeshift memorial Monday night.

The protesters who are camped out in Crawford expressed outrage at the vandalism.

They probably added the libturd's labor into the charge. You know, getting them off of their lazy butts is a real feat!

Lib motto: "If it moves tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. If it stops moving, subsidize it."

God knows, the moonbat's brains stopped functioning decades ago.

Those people, attempting to call what they are doing with those crosses a memorial is nothing but a disgusting sham.

While they side with the people killing those very service personnel, while they deride everything our people are fighting for, they have the audacity to call those crosses of the very people they are defecating on a memorial?

I agree with the person doing the driving to the extent that is is such a disgraceful display that it should come down.

And how can it be criminal mischief when these anit-Americans have simply stuck those crosses into the ground on public property without some kind of ordinance that allows or protects it?

Idiot. This helps make Sheehan look even more the poor victim and those opposing her more like monsters.

Funny this makes the news, but no mention of the father of a KIA requesting his son's name be removed from the crosses.

not sure the american public is going to let the extremists run down the country again like in the 60's. Not sure it'll play out the same for the extremists. This is opening some very sensitive and deep wounds, like the 2000 election.

I seem to recall on Barbara Boxer get run out on a rail by angry voters in Tallahassee when she showed up in all her carpetbagger glory to implore people to give it more time re the BS legal ploys being used there.

They do the same thing at Ft. Monmouth in New Jersey - dirty scum writing the names of people they hate on a symbol they hate, then mockingly setting both up as a fake "memorial." It makes my blood boil.

That's a good point. If the crosses were on private property--then it's trespassing. If the crosses were on public property--then it's unconstitutional.

Where these crosses placed on private property without the owner's permission? If so then only if the property owner complains should this guy face charges.

If these crosses were placed on public right of way, then then they were probably placed there illegally. Then at best the guy could be charged for littering (so should the lefties that put them there in the first place.)

Wait a minute. This group is erecting crosses on property that is not theirs. This is the shoulder of a State, or maybe a federal, highway. This is a shoulder used for auto emergencies. Get them the hell off the land. I understand that this shoulder butts to private property.

The real questions: Who's land were they on? What private property did he trespass on to do this?If it was public land then he has as much right to display his feelings with his truck as the Cindy-fellas have to display their faux crosses.

These pro-terrorist freaks are using the names of our war dead in vain. Their use of the crosses diminishes the names of those for whom they pretend to speak.

As the dead cannot answer for themselves, and they showed their true commitment and bravery in a life well lived and in military service freely given, I commend Larry for destroying the symbols that were only intended to diminish their great character.

He should have quite while he was ahead, i.e. practicing his shotgun skills on his own property in anticipation of "dove" season. Running over the crosses was pretty stupid, even though they are part of Sheehan's sham, and even worse, he gave the anti-war morons the satisfaction of seeing him hauled off to jail.
