Your attitude is refreshing. Even though you have opinions of your own about whether or not what this man did was right or wrong, as you await to hear more of the story, you carry on the conversation with calmness and maturity. That is one of my favorite traits about good FReepers. :)
Excellent for standing up for his proncipals. He failed miserably in his technique.
But whatever his intent he ran down the flags that we placed there Friday night as well...
They had to use asbestos gloves.
Hmmmmmm... If he was also the one who ran down the flags on Friday night, it would seem highly doubtful that he had two "accidents" in the same area, doing the same thing. Whoever this man is, it appears that he has some serious self-control issues. This kind of help, we do NOT need. Someone has to be the grown up in these situations, and I always thought it was Conservatives who do that best. The MSM and others will use this against us. I do not salute nor thank this man for that.
Well, there's a big difference between respecting the flag and desecrating the flag just as there is a big difference between real coffins/crosses and the fake ones used to promote your own agenda.
Yep, I sure would be calling for the driver's head in that case. But, unlike you, I don't equate them as the same.
I did not say their symbolic value was equal,in fact I don't think they are equal at all, I think the crosses are typical bad props used by the raving antiwar moonbats.
But the principal is the same, trying to stifle free speech no matter how misguided the message is is, is wrong, and using destructive force to silence opposition is even worse.
He did have the right to point out what stupid props the roadside crosses are and that the entire antiwar message is in fact Anti-American. Sheehans circus with a heavy dose of irony demoralizes the troops as she "supports" the troops.
It doesn't matter what this guy did...the OLD MEDIA will portray the news as they want to regardless.
The crosses are as fake as Cindy's support for her son is. Where can I send a donation for this guy's legal defense?
Idiot. We don't put up with this crap when the opposition does it to us, and we're not going to put up with our guys doing it to them. I hope he gets hammered.
The flags were placed beside the crosses...he couldn't have run over the crosses without knocking over the flags as well
Mowing down some fake crosses doesn't keep her big fat mouth from flapping, does it? If not, they she has free speech and what this guy did hasn't stopped it.
He's pissed and so am I.
Hey, uh, gang...
I've scanned the subject ev'ry which way but nasty and the date keeps coming back 6-11-2005 -- NOT today as I keep seeing. Looks to me like the subject has at least two months under it's FR belt.
Whasssup?? I mean, I enjoy a good light show as much as the next pyromaniac, but sumpthin' don't square, here.
I neither condone nor condemn this guys actions, but I do think it is funny nonetheless.
Running over political props may be vandalism but it certainly isn't violence in my oppinion. These dummies are desecrating the memories of American patriots for anti-american political purposes so I can certainly understand why he did what he did.
" The liberties of our country, are worth defending at all hazards. We have received them from our worthy ancestors: They purchased them for us with toil, treasure and blood. It will bring an everlasting infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us...or be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men "

I agree that the left is brimming with hypocrits.
Maybe a good thing to hook up with the neighbor with the shotgun and do some coyote hunting. Perfectly legal. Not uncommon in rural Texas.
Hmmm... from 10 pm to 3 am every night.. the "dying rabbit" predator call -- followed by a couple shots from a .308... lather, rinse, repeat on the half hour. Should make for a restful night sleep for all involved.
At least, that's what I'd be doing if these nuts were camped out across from my little ranch. Perfectly legal. Not uncommon in rural Texas.
