I am constantly amazed at the wonder of people when informed that taking a drug for symptom 'X' produces side effect 'Y'. Drugs affect biochemical reactions in the body and there are very few biochemical reactions in the body that are that specific to assume that the drug will affect ONLY that specific area/organ of the body.
To say empirically that Aspirin is the 'safest' pain killer is asinine. Sure, it is for some people, but for those with certain medical conditions it most certainly is not. All medications should be taken with the risk/benefit profile in mind...there are NO miracle drugs that are devoid of side effects.
Thanks for the ping; more sound advice...good posts, thanks.
This is old news to people that study pain medicine. It's nice to see the rest of the country now knows.
