Ex-President Bill Clinton said Monday that he had to assure world leaders that there was nothing seriously wrong with America after the Congress impeached him in 1998.
"During that time, a lot of world leaders would ask, 'What is going on? Is this serious?'" he told New York magazine.
"I kept assuring them that nothing bad had happened to America," he recalled, "but that we periodically went through spasms."
Interviewed while traveling in Africa, the ex-president claimed, "Africans saw [my impeachment] for exactly what it was: an abuse of power."
"They got it here," he insisted.
The magazine noted that "seven years later, the ordeal of his impeachment still has a vibrant, ever-present life in Clinton's mind."

At least finally, he admits he abused his power by attempting to fix the Paula Jones sexual harassment suit!

The only elected President to EVER to be impeached, and it's just an occasional spasm we have. Not serious at all. Although his party has yet to win a national election since.

Johnson wasn't elected....he became President when Lincoln was assassinated....

What an A**HOLE!He has the(albeit dubious)distinKtion of being the ONLY ELECTED POYUS to be IMPEACHED!!I guess(to paraphrase the late Peter Jennings,BeelzeBubba thought his IMPEACHMRNT to be just another"Temper Tantrum"!!!!!!!!!

Bubba seems to be implying that his actions were particularly understandable to black people.

This POS always gave out the line "I'm working hard, everyday, for the American people". I've always wanted to ask him, "Mr. Clinton, when you were working hard for the American people was that during the Lewenski days as well"?
This guy will never stop, he's totally out of his mind. Liberalism is a mental disorder and it should be treated with strong drugs and confinement in an institution, but that institution should never be government!

Thank goodness the Senate acquited this guy. All we need is another felonious (thanks Miss Coulter!) lying former President telling the third world exactly what NOT to do in the name of the USA.
I wish the UN would just elect him dictator for life so we could be rid of this windbag forever. I would buy MORE French products if they would just take him off of our hands. Oh, and can we ship the Bil Clinton Massage Parlor over there too? Sort of a return gift for the Statue of Liberty...

Interviewed while traveling in Africa, the ex-president claimed, "Africans saw [my impeachment] for exactly what it was: an abuse of power." Ahh, the all-important Moral Authority of the UN African contingent. Yes, they certainly understood the complexities of he US Constitution and how it was being bused by the Clinton White House. The African Continent is a beacon of virtue.
"They got it here," he insisted.
And Clinton got it down there, now didn't he?
