WASHINGTON — The State Department warned the Clinton administration in July 1996 that Usama bin Laden's (search) move to Afghanistan would give him more fertile ground to spread radical Islam, according to newly declassified documents.

The documents, released by the legal advocacy group Judicial Watch on Wednesday, say that bin Laden would feel comfortable moving from Sudan to Afghanistan, which "has become an even more desirable location for extremists. Afghanistan may be an ideal haven as long as bin Laden can continue to run his businesses and financial networks."

I just remembered something else...add the Deb Orin column today to the mix...about the Mary Jo White pleadings on the WALL.

The unseen hand moving this story is very busy.

Clinton claimed he could have got Binny...if he had had more time....then gets it been the eyes this morning with this State Dept release.

Kean and Hamliton of the 9/11 commission come forward last week and pooh pooh Weldons claim on ABLE DANGER....then Shaffer steps forward and pulls the rug out from under them.

Then Deb Orin writes her column detailing the memo Mary Jo wrote back in 1996 pleading to remove the WALL...effectively muzzling Gorelick.

Exactly, Dog. And she's hardly a republican hack. She holds gravitas with the dems. There's a word that's going to come back to haunt them!

"Do we have any hope that the judge ruling in the case might say, "Now, hold on there....not so fast"?"

if you're referring to Fat Sandy's sentencing, the judge has already postponed sentencing until next month...

I think Burglar is "covered" under the Clintoon's "J Edgar Hoover" insurance policy

I knew those copies of the FBI files would come in handy. LOL

No, what I am asking is, is there a chance he might not accept the deal Sandy copped with the prosecutor? In other words the judge would say, that plea agreement is unacceptible, your trial is set for..........

ohhhh, I don't know about that
I think once the prosecutor offers a deal and accepts a plea, unless there is some evidence that the defendant has lied and/or other evidence of other crimes then the judge would have to go forward with sentencing without a trial...
but I'm sure there are some FReepers out there who passed the Bar who could confirm or deny what I've said. LOL...

Remember Mr. Clarke?

He wrote a book.

He testified before the commission.

Yet, he did not have this information?

Either he was really less important or a HUGE LIAR.

Same here. Whoever this is, is playing a brilliant cat-and-mouse game of chess. That automatically leaves out kerry and kennedy.

What is strange is these new documents could have been declassified last year....why was it DONE right in the middle of Able Danger breaking to the surface.

Maybe because people are sick of Clinton goon type lies. Let's get the truth out...

"HUGE LIAR"

Clarke was head of counter-terrorism, so he HAD TO HAVE KNOWN!
And so would Warren Christoper have had knowledge of this information who I mentioned earlier was asked by O'Reilly to respond and Christoper refused!!!

"The big secret is that Democrats who are sick of the Clintons are the ones who are going to push it."

Not a chance.

Judith Miller of the NY Times is in **JAIL** to do her part to keep this whole affair from unraveling (and yes, the Plame/Wilson/Berger shenanigans are all part of the Left's coverup).

Won't work, but it goes to show that the Left isn't going to push this scandal, to say the very least!

Either he was really less important or a HUGE LIAR.

He's a HUGE LIAR which is why he's now employed by ABC.

Watching the details fo this come out is like chinese water torture, but it's not as bad as watching the 9/11 commission fuaning over Richard Clark and trying to crucify John Ashcroft.

In his ****PUBLIC**** testimony to the 9/11 Commission, Richard Clarke told the Senate panel that the FBI knew of 2 of the 19 hijackers, that they were in the U.S., and that they were likely plotting an attack.

That got edited from the final printed report, but it made CNN at the time.

In the aspect of GMTA (5:25:00 PM CDT), did you see Mike Scheuer from the "Bin Laden Issue Station"?
Another door that needs to be looked at IMO.

"There is an unseen hand here guiding this story and Able Danger and I'm having trouble figuring out who it is.."

Perhaps some strategery.....

Give the dims enough rope to hang them all.

This treason will be at boiling point all next year (think November '06 landslide burying the rats) followed by similar impact in '08.

Shrillary gets well cooked....her fake move to the right just makes it worse.

"Clarke was head of counter-terrorism, so he HAD TO HAVE KNOWN!"

Wrong. This was a DoD Spec Ops job. General Schomacher(?) was in the know. And, of course, select staff....

Why so long for DoD to get angry? They were hit on 9/11!

Yes, but maybe even she does not understand the whole picture, and probably does not, but was told, shut up and go to jail you will be recompensed along the way.
