The NCAA is becoming so out of touch with reality it's driving me insane. Not only have they begun pursuing this ideology of the left that they know better what's good for American Indians than the tribes themselves (witness the FSU situation), but Sports Illustrated also reports that fans of the University of Georgia found out that a father of a Boise State player is in Iraq training Iraqi police officers, and therefore set up a charity fund to fly the Boise State father into Georgia so that he could watch his son play.

Unfortunately, the NCAA quashed the charity because under their rules, monetary benefits are prohibited, and this supposedly qualified.

The NCAA apparently can't differentiate between the letter and spirit of their own bylaws.

It is my personal view that the NCAA has long outlived its purpose and usefulness and should cease to exist. The only other option is for all member schools to fire the current leadership, and replace them with sane people.
