"Arabs!? I am not surprised!"

There's a book called "The Trouble with Islam Today" by a Canadian Islamic feminist named Irshad Manji, and she makes the point that much of what is wrong with Islam is Arab ethnic and cultural chauvinism, which Arabs equate with authentic Islam. According to this view, Islam is preeminently the crown jewel of Arab culture. The Arab language is viewed as the language of God, Arab clothing is considered the only true Islamic clothing, and Arab cultural norms are to be imposed whenever and wherever possible. Manji calls a spade a spade, and tells them - quite frankly - to stuff it.
