He's out-talking O'Reilly! Comes off as -very- defensive of the 9-11 Commission. Gorton was also directly defensive of the Gorelick "wall" memo, said that it had NO impact on information sharing, expect against individuals in the criminal justice system -- that is, if a person wasn't under arrest or being prosecuted, then foreign intelligence could be shared with FBI.
he was very defensive. but I doubt anyone has ever asked him even a single tough question regarding the 9-11 commission report before. I give OReilly credit for that. if FNC would ditch the "missing persons" format for 2 hours of primetime a night, we might have more interviews like this.
What Gorton doesn't say is that there was a DOD policy which similarly proscribed such sharing of info. Guess where JG worked before joining DOJ? Anyone ...
Gorton is uninformed and/or mis-informed.... let's watch how many of the 9/11 O-missioners are willing to defend the report now on this matter..... who is out in front in public willing to defend their work, and who is hiding??? Why on earth is GORELICKER allowed to hide??? I thought the O-missioners said they wanted to have a great "public discourse" project now to follow up on the report -- here is O'Reilly offering GORELICKER free air time to 2+ million viewers and she is skulking in the basement.....
He was "too" energized .. I didn't like it at all. The evidenciary documentation under Gorelick's signature is being swept and discounted BIG time. Shame on him.
