Rumsfeld says that 9/11 Commission briefed about Able Danger
FNC | August 23, 2005 | FNC

Posted on 08/23/2005 10:51:56 AM PDT by Peach

Rumsfeld is having a press conference. Under the Fox News Alert the big banner read:

Rumsfeld says that Able Danger briefed the 9/11 Commission.

Did anyone hear his remarks on this matter; all I've seen is the banner.

Did you hear the press conference? If yes, please fill us in.

We both agreed on another thread that if Rumsfeld is willing to go on the record with this, he believes Shaffer and is willing to tie his fortune to Shaffer.

I turned the television on about 1:30 est. The banner under The Fox News Alert was up for a long time so I'm assuming Rumsfeld was asked about Able Danger at the press conference.

Didn't Kean, et al already say they met with or were briefed on Able Danger, after they said they didn't?

Ok, but has he said WHAT Able Danger briefed the 9/11 commission on? Did they share the information about Atta? The commission has said that their staff spoke with Able Danger, but were never told about the Atta information.

Have to go exercise; will check in later. Wish I'd heard the question during the press conference but I was convinced by another freeper to put up a thread about this matter.

Hopefully someone can fill in the blanks.

And I think we're approaching double digits of excuses by the 9/11 Commission :-)

I heard him say that the commission WAS briefed on AD - you know, the very thing that they first claimed they weren't and now are claiming doesn't matter?

*sigh* More parsing. We know they were briefed on Able Danger. Did they get the name "Atta" with that, or just a briefcase full of documents that did NOT include the name?

Yes, I think Kean finally admitted that staff was briefed about Able Danger. Banner on FNC said Commission was briefed. Perhaps that's just shortcut by FNC by not saying it was staff.

The sticking point seems to be whether the chart had a picture of Atta.

The commission has said that their staff spoke with Able Danger, but were never told about the Atta information.

You mean Deitrich Snell, the Clinton flunky and, along with Jamie Gorelick, the gatekeeper of information that the committee saw?

I'd be interested to know if Rumsfeld made the distinction between the staff of the Commission or the COmmission itself. And if he mentioned Atta.

I have GOT to go exercise (I just ate a piece of cake with lunch!)

"Ok, but has he said WHAT Able Danger briefed the 9/11 commission on? Did they share the information about Atta? The commission has said that their staff spoke with Able Danger, but were never told about the Atta information. "

Dunno, yet. Methinks, however, it will become a he, he, he, she, he, he, he said vs. lying 9-11 Commission said situation...

Watch you don't get trapped with: It's all about Atta". There were others here before him that were on those planes on 9-11 and he contacted them before he arrived.

And how does Sec. Rumsfeld know this? And when did he know it?

Hmm... so we seem to have multiple confirmations that Able Danger existed, and that it is substantially what it is alleged to be.

Why are the documents gone? What happened to them?
