CANTON, Mass. --A year after Patrick Holland won a groundbreaking legal battle to "divorce" his father for murdering his mother, the 15-year-old still doesn't have his mother's cremated remains, jewelry, photos or money -- thanks to wrangling over her estate.
Liz Holland's father, Robert McCrocklin of Quicksburg, Va., was appointed administrator of the estate shortly after Daniel Holland shot her in 1998. Daniel Holland was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole. The case is still on appeal.
McCrocklin has not filed an accounting of what he did with his daughter's possessions or $15,646 from the sale of the Holland's house in Quincy, although a Norfolk County Probate Court judge ordered him to do so by July 11, according to court records.
He also has not given her ashes to Patrick, her only child and heir. Meanwhile, two guardians appointed by the court to investigate the estate on Patrick's behalf have quit, leaving Patrick with a single legal advocate -- his adoptive father, Ron Lazisky of Sandown, N.H.
Lazisky filed a motion earlier this month to compel McCrocklin to give up the ashes. Lazisky also wants to replace McCrocklin as administrator and has asked the court to find McCrocklin in contempt for his failure to file the accounting.
In response, the lawyer for McCrocklin and the estate, Steven Wollman, filed a motion trying to bar Lazisky from representing Patrick, arguing he isn't a lawyer and he costs the estate money every time he files an improper motion and Wollman has to respond.

Poor kid yes. I wonder about the people who are "working on his behalf".
Probate and estate lawyers are some of the sleekest sharks around. The courts fail totally at performing oversight and they just continue to bleed estates into nothingness with billable (non)work, except when they simple just steal, theive and embezzle the property and funds for personal use.
This kid is lucky he has at least one person trying to look out for him. Too bad the judge can't be bothered to get off his butt to make sure he gets his murdered mother's estate.
What a life!
